Brock play has won us a lot of games. Jimmys play winning us games can be counted on one hand.

JG never had a losing season as 49er QB when healthy. i think lowest win total was 10 wins and in the champ game.

How many seasons did JG play in when the defense was 29th or worse in points allowed? How many less games do you think Jimmy wins without Gould as his kicker?

Wanna look at playoff results by each QB?

each guy has to walk their own path. brock didn't join a losing squad. he joined a SB caliber squad. i look at the playoff results and i see both had KC in the bowl and we lost both games close.
Jesus Christ are we back on the Brock Purdy is another Jimmy G talk? Hide posts feature is amazing.

Do you really need a reminder how each QB played in the end of each game?

You're acting like Garoppolo didn't have a squad with him in 2019. #2 rushing team behind Baltimore and a great defense led by a dominant pass rush.

i remember a guy who didn't even like JG on this board, he crunched all his numbers and said JG was the 12th best QB in the league, something like that. most observers seem to have JG as a 8-20 somewhere in that range (back when he was playing for us), and same with brock. we get outraged when ringer has brock as QB20 (around there) but that's where some folks have him. 2024 i started to see why in some respects, he didn't have much of anything on his passes. is it fair to say from 2023 to 2024 the arrow is trending down on brock? he should bounce back but i want to see him playing better, not just a product of cmc coming back and BA back and so forth. his passes floating has nothing to do with cmc out, it's just a lack of much velo.

Besides cheating ass Mahomes, Allen and Jackson are highlight kings during the season. They don't really do s**t in the playoffs, neither one has gotten to a Superbowl. And lets not act like they don't have good O-lines and weapons around them. James Cook and Derrick Henry aren't exactly chumps or third stringers.

Yes we are.

It's my fault. He keeps bringing it back up because that's all he has. Every rational person realizes Brock is a starting QB in this league who is going to have a 10 year career even if it's not here long term while Jimmy is a backup qb made to look good by Kyle Shanahan.

Lol maybe take a look at Allen's playoff stats. Lamar I agree has not delivered individually

Allen has been a beast in the playoffs. Of course Buffalo hasn't been to the SB, but that certainly isn't his fault. They lost a game where they scored 36 points, lol.

I dont care about their receiving stats though. As far as running the ball...they had to at least be "adequate" toting it for 5.0+ yard clips,...don't you think? That helps the passing game. They don't have to actually receive the ball alot to help.

To expect that they somehow "replace" CMC's passing game production even partially is absurd (which makes my point for me),...and Kyle didnt try to gameplan towards it either.

Does he really require dynamic players like CMC and Kittle to do well himself? Can he do well without perhaps the best LT in the game through it all as well? Or does it all fall apart?

If it does then same question: What is his true cap-space value? If you are sure it's well over $50M he can eat up and we're still good then ok,...but that's you. We will see.

Let's not pretend like there are not still pertinent questions to be answered.

So basically you want to see Brock produce without any dynamic players on offense to give you faith enough to extend him?

...which QB has done that again? You loved to remind us how showing Mahomes' lackluster play per his own standards once his offense was banged up was dumb because he was still getting it done and winning games.

How did that go in the SB when he didn't get refs giving him second chances left and right and had to deal with some protection issues and drops? Surely an elite QB like him could've pulled the team together right?

Or are we ready to admit that every QB needs help around them?

I want the 49ers to do what I already know they are making an effort to do,...which is spending wisely when it comes to the salary cap.

Reality and what I personally want tho, does not need to mix. If you bring up these players that he had to do without and want to act like he was lining up with JV players,...I just think you're stretching things a bit and you're countering your point a little too much without realizing it.

We'd like to say "hey...even without these guys.....look at how we did",...but the data just isint there. He started out hot as a rookie and then he had a great 2023 campaign. That's pretty much what we're going to go off of when we talk salary cap commitment.

This is not "he just wants to argue,...."...lol. It's simply giving my opinion.

Yeah, Allen's team just isn't that good around him. They aren't terrible but when you're comparing the bills roster to Chiefs, Ravens, 49ers, Eagles etc - bills easily have the worst overall team (outside of our team this year).

Allen is a stud and Carry's that team weekly. I thought he should have won NFL MVP 2 years ago when Lamar got it. He carried the bills to the playoffs, it wasn't orettt but it was impressive.
