I would bet my house that some teams choose that route as opposed to paying Purdy $60 Mil per or whatever. Pure rose colored glasses thinking "every QB needy team" will start bidding on him lol.

All that said; I'm confident a deal will get done, but not because the 49ers "know" that it needs to

yea i think people dont understand that after an avg season, sitting out of camp and being less ready to raise his value may hurt him more than us.

Mac Jones was probably brought in to shave another $15M off of it to boot.
