Are we that bored that we need to make up extreme case scenarios with Brock's deal?

We extend him yet?!

So he admits we are going to have another distraction with a contract negotiation. Every year this regime lets contract negotiations drag on creating drama and they always cave in the end.

Im done with these guys.

If I'm Brock I don't take another snap without a new deal. He tears an ACL in practice and then he's on a prove it deal next season. No way he practices without securing the bag.

The established team M.O. is to let Paraag hold the line, until the end when Kyle panics and tells him to give him what they want. This is what the players have been taught. Brock hasn't spent the last three years in Afghanistan. And frankly, Lynch doesn't sound too assured.

He's under contract for this season so if he holds out he could be fined. He's not making much now so fines would hurt. If I was him I would show up for practice and show them that I want to lead the team and not just land a big deal. He probably won't get many snaps in pre seson since teams don't play starters much.

He'd have to play ten years under his current contract to earn what his market value says he's worth in a single year. You can't go ten years without a major injury. The extablished way to deal with it is to "hold in", avoiding the fines, and learning the new stuff in meetings and engaging with his teammates to keep his leadership in tact. Even practicing is not worth the risk, and takes the pressure off the team on the deal. Kyle Always caves if you press it. Maybe Brock does practice, because he is naturally a team guy, but it's not smart.

What this team needs is an organizational change that gives Paraag, and not Kyle, the final say on how far the team will go in a negotiation. After all, it's not Kyle's money, and Paraag does represent the ownership. And then, Paraag will have to show that the team is willing to deal with the consequences, and make the player do likewise, if they are to ever stop this crap of dragging out negotiations until the last minute to trigger Kyle. I don't see them starting with Brock. It's not smart for Brock to even practice without his market contract.

What? Kyle isn't the contract negotiator and numbers guy. That's always been Paraag and Lynch. Kyle is the coach along with talent evaluator. He's the buffer between the FO and player. He tells the FO who he needs to make s**t go.

Kyle isn't dragging anything out lol. Dude consistently talks about getting guys signed as soon as possible. Not dragging anything out. No coach wants that.

this whole Brock market contract stuff is silly, there is no market. He's not a FA. IF you want to see what his real worth is go let him discuss contracts with other teams, like we did with BA and the Rams did with Stafford. That will determine his worth.

if Brock thinks he's worth $250M then there should be teams lining up to pay a 24yr old QB and give up picks for the most important position in sports.

Kyle isn't dragging anything out. Our history of caving at crunch time is dragging these negotiations out. I don't believe that's Paraag caving but only late in the game, but suit yourself.

And of course there is a market established for quarterbacks. It's just a matter of slotting Brock in. Jed just acknowledged he's at least top 10. And for all practical purposes, he Is a free agent for pay purposes, because you can't make him play for $5.1m. He won't.

you keep saying this but it is your opinion only. i think he would play for 5.1m. he's played for less than that. a lot less. but again, it derails the convo, cuz you and i both think a deal will get done. so the will he play on 5.1 convo is too early. it's april 1. you can fast forward 5 months and still not 1 regular season game played. so there is time here. a lot of time.
