He slides in the pocket, his movement is terrific, he goes through his reeds like a top qb and he delivers the ball in stride. Unlike Jimmy Garoppolo who would often throw a little behind the receiver or they would have to jump and almost stop for it plenty of times. So impressed with this rookie playing like a top quarterback

Yeah, that's why the team has been near the top of the league in YAC almost every year since Jimmy has been here because he can't hit receivers in stride. This place, I swear. It's like it exists in some kind of a alternative reality.

Wait, what? The reasons our guys are near the top of the league in YAC are their ability to either break tackles or make defenders miss altogether, along with coach's ability to put them in the best position to do so. Yes, Jimmy still needed to deliver the ball to that spot, but giving him credit for their YAC is the same as giving him credit for the team's wins.

YAC is a team stat - in my opinion, for the most part. Jimmy still had to make the throw and get it in the right spot so the receiver has a chance get YAC.

Dirty Purdy has been consistent with his great ball placement though, small sample size, but it's been better than Jimmie's was - although I don't think Jimmie's was bad. Just not as consistent, but he was still really good at it.
me thinks Glock Purdy went under the radar for the draft is because he played for a second rate program with crappy uniforms, in a second rate conference, in second rate media market, surrounded by second rate talent... he was the most talented player on the team but you can't make chicken salad from chicken crap... he put up some decent numbers over 4 years but hard to know if his game would transfer to the NFL considering the soil he was planted in

guess that didn't age well

I think he just realized that his team was under talented in comparison to a lot of their division opponents. So he was trying to do too much and it made him make really bad plays. Couple that with his mediocre size/arm - I can see why people didn't draft him. It's why the draft is a crap shoot. No one has any idea how someone will turn out, ever.

I am not worried about Brock. This team has proven it can win in the playoffs with subpar QB play. If we get better than that, watch out!!

What does Sub Par QB play have to do with Brock Purdy?

Dude had been stellar.

He's referring to Jimmy G, even though every year Jimmy ranks between 8-14 in qbr and nfl rating.

Talking about the playoffs.

Not in the playoffs which is what he was referring too
Dirty Purdy, Run CMC, and the good ole boys! Our team is going to making a music video with these names, for sure.

Oh I see. So you troll everyone, then get upset when they call you out on it.

Also I'd put you on ignore, but the ignore feature here sucks and it ends up blocking all response in a string of responses. Makes it hard to follow the conversation. You could also just be a normal person and try to contribute something of substance rather than just be negative 24/7.

I never block anyone.
A grown man shouldn't have to block anyone.
Engage or ignore.

I love chatting with Ring...He or she has classic low resolution hot takes.

I agree. I don't block anybody. I just enjoy the debate. If you don't like a post you just move on to the next one. It happens. But no reason to be a baby about it IMO.

The only ones being a baby are those crying about "personal attacks." Ring should be able to post whatever he wants, IF we're allowed to say whatever we want back. But that's not the case. He's allowed to troll, but we can't address his trolling.

What do you mean? I call him out for trolling all the time.

Just try not to be a jerk about it
I said this before, but I think what sets brock apart from jimmy and trey is he just plays more fluidly. From how he moves in and out of the pocket to his throwing motion and ability to side arm and throw at awkward angles. its a trait that helps make mahomes to be special, and you dont see it in a lot of qbs even elite ones

Kind of a true take there. Brock plays very hungry and seems to just put his whole self into what he does.

Brock Purdy's floor is Jimmy G's ceiling…

I think it's a testament to Purdys work ethic and dedication. His fundamentals and mechanics are second nature to him, which helps him remain calm and look for the RIGHT play.

i watched a video of how he moves in the pocket when pressure comes and it was really impressive. When pressure starts coming, usually!, he just takes a step in a different direction to give him the space to still have proper mechanics on the throw.

it's very unusual. Haha usually young players rely on their athleticism while they catch up mentally to the game. Purdy is the opposite - he came into the league with the mental aspect of the game as his strength. He doesn't rely on athleticism to play football - which explains why he's doing things rookies either never have, or only few have.
I think B-Rock just made some MONEY for Georgia's Bennett !!! He'll be drafted earlier than expected !!
