Yeah, that's why the team has been near the top of the league in YAC almost every year since Jimmy has been here because he can't hit receivers in stride. This place, I swear. It's like it exists in some kind of a alternative reality.

Wait, what? The reasons our guys are near the top of the league in YAC are their ability to either break tackles or make defenders miss altogether, along with coach's ability to put them in the best position to do so. Yes, Jimmy still needed to deliver the ball to that spot, but giving him credit for their YAC is the same as giving him credit for the team's wins.

No one is saying that Jimmy gets all the credit for the YAC the team was putting up while he was under center. It is a collaborative process. Kyle creates the schemes then it is up to the QB to execute his part of it by putting the ball in a place where it will maximize the receiver's ability to then go out and do their thing, If Jimmy were consistently putting his passes high or low or behind his receivers then they wouldn't be getting the chances they have had to run after the catch. It's not rocket science. Everybody contributes. Sorry if that concept is so hard for some people to grasp just because it doesn't fit their "Jimmy sucks" narrative.

Brock has shown the ability to do this as well so hopefully we will continue to put up good numbers in this area. The addition of McCaffrey certainly isn't going to hurt. It looks like Purdy plays the position with a lot of efficiency which is exactly what this offense seems to require. It will be interesting to see how far he can take them this year. Go Niners!
