Really sucks for him. I guess great for the team.

Gotta get that sub sandwich money

If he can keep it together for three years he will get a huge payday to make up for it.

Eat Fresh Iowa Refresh endorsement

cc would be all over it

Can a player get endorsements from companies outside their team, such as Nike, Fred's Used Automotives or whatever, and that does not count toward the salary cap?

I think so. Being "Mr Irrelevant" should help him get endorsements.

Plus he does not come across like a big headed idiot when he talks to the media or in the locker room. He comes across as a likeable, moral and humble young man living the dream. That will sell products for whoever wants to sponsor him.

You mean he's not making it rain in the strip club? Lol

He probably won't do that. Even if he does, he is probably smart enough to not let people film it and post on the Internet.

He doesn't make enough money to do it.

Just imagine the hype if this dude sustains his current level of play during a deep playoff run. His face will be everywhere, and he'll deserve it.

Winning playoff games is tough, so I'll take wins any way we can get them. But yeah, if we're winning and he keeps doing what he's been doing, his stardom will rise very quickly. So far I think there are a good amount of people still dismissing this as Purdy getting carried by the defense and run game, because that's been the narrative for Jimmy for so long. If you're not watching Niners games and just looking at stats, it's not all that impressive. But for those of us who are actually watching, it's obviously a different story.

I don't know about that. His efficiency stats are near the top of the league across the board.

And now that we've had a few games, the stats have finally caught up with the eye test with respect to down the field passing. Brock's completed air yards per pass attempt is 5.9, while Jimmy's is 4.8. His completed air yards per pass attempt is 3.9 compared to 3.2 for Jimmy. Not slamming Jimmy, just pointing out his numbers as a reference point to compare in order to highlight just how good even the advanced stats look for Purdy. Granted, neither one of those numbers are elite (CAY/PA would be tied with Lamar Jackson for 14th), but they do represent an improvement in the offense in terms of quarterback contribution to big passing plays. And that means defenses are having to cover slightly deeper routes.

I meant more so the casual fan looking at yards, TD's, etc. They aren't eye popping fantasy numbers, essentially. I 100% agree that from an efficiency standpoint, he has been stellar. If anything, he has carried the defense which has looked very average towards the end of the season.

Yes the eye test is obvious that he's been an improvement over Jimmy, especially down field. Those are significant differences that you're pointing out as well which backs up what we're all seeing.

some post tweets like this and claim Brock is just Jimmy

Exactly. Seeing a crap ton of nonsense like this. I mean I was huge Jimmy fan but WTF are people hanging onto? Lol

I would think the aggression stat is throwing the ball in extra tight windows. Jimmy was very good at that down the middle. Purdy will get better at it as he gains NFL experience and knowledge of Kyle's scheme. But Purdy is better in a lot of other ways such as accuracy on deeper balls and pocket mobility, that 10 yard burst out of danger or threw a lane.

Sometimes QBs throw into extra tight windows because they don't read the defense properly after the snap. I won't name names.

Which of our QBs since Kap has come off like that? And to be Franck*, Kap was standoffish, not a "big headed idiot."

But yes, Brock is very polite and approachable for the media.

.
.

*even if Franck Gire

Win a SB and the endorsement 💰 💰 would be insane. Dude could be like Gronk and just live off the endorsements while putting away every penny of his salary.

He's got that wholesome demeanor that got Tebow a few extra mill despite...well...you know...
