Lol no they are running Kyle's offense. It's heavy play-action with a ton of in breaking routes. It's concepts he's been running forever.

yet none of our tds are on inbreaking routes. deebo down the side juan down the side. tds on scoot n' duck pocket extenders. brock is making tds out of these plays that no one has since shanny got here. its like shanny putting out the same jigsaw puzzle pieces but brock putting them together a different way. its wild

There's absolutely nothing different in this route. It's just good YAC and blocking downfield.

the only difference is how Brock is reading the field. It's high to low and he isn't just settling for his first read. He's also able to extend plays, something that's been needed for a while.

the play calling is no different.

The play is out breaking though.

Honestly i really don't know what's going on. But something is going on. And i like it.

He absolutely is creating touchdown plays with improvs in the red zone. Obviously jimmy at his best will just take the sack or throw away. Which is fine. I don't blame 30-year-old quarterback with ACL issues to do anything other than that. But Brock is manufacturing Four Points in those situations very often. And it's transforming us as a team.

Wrap your minds around it. They are better with their 3rd string QB lol.

Kid is good!

We're still running the Shanahan offense, it's just that Purdy is running it significantly better than his predecessor.

I don't think he's necessarily running it significantly better, he just looks a lot better than Jimmy because of his short burst and quickness and throws a more accurate deep ball.

Yup. That was one of the best games I've seen.

Love Brock and loved his 2nd half yesterday, but LOL.

I stand by it consider he had 4 TDs in a playoff debut and 5th was the best play of the game to BA he dropped it. Well over 300 yards and should be 5 TDs in playoffs that's in the stratosphere of best games. I will die on this hill

I agree. that was his best game as a 49er.
lol this kid is amazing... stakes get bigger.. plays even better

Let's just hope his first loss doesn't take place this season.

Lol no they are running Kyle's offense. It's heavy play-action with a ton of in breaking routes. It's concepts he's been running forever. Nothing is different, guys are STILL getting wide open. Difference is Brock can make plays when s**t breaks down. He's not taking the first read then pooping his pants if it's not there.

Yeah, I really think it's the same offense but Purdy attacks the plays differently. I love Jimmy but players like jimmy, Geno, Dak etc - they're all good quarterbacks but also game managers (good ones). They take what the defense gives them, meaning they don't push the offense down the field or typically go for tight window throws.

what Purdy is doing is wayyy more than just "handing the ball to play makers" - he's making plays and giving our guys opportunities to make big plays. We are scoring so much cause Brock is aggressive and confident, while also being smart with his high football IQ to mitigate turnovers. I really think we finally found the elite qb we have been desiring.. and he's on a rookie scale contract for 3 more seasons..

yea, mostly this. were changing how score. making plays to cross goal line instead ofnot crossing and getting 3 points. the play calling is the same the results are different.

one of the things thats blowing me away is how much of a difference scoring tds makes as the game wears on. it takes 3 field goal drives to beat one touchdown play. three. yesterday laugher was OVER 8 minutes left in q4. no opportunity for shanny to get conservative and blow it. 41 17. thats a 3 td + 1 fg difference with 10 minutes left. if we kicked field goals ( a la sanf fran from 2017-2021) the score is 29 - 17. two bombs to metcalf, and we LOSE. huge difference in mentality. its wild
you do know that Kyle is not playing QB right ?

Kyle has always been the qb here.

Not yet. That's the same thing that was said after JG's first 5 games here. Let's be patient and just enjoy the ride.

You do you....

I think the consensus is Jimmy was never the same post injury....well he was kinda maybe the same for a few games this year...well before another injury.......

That's a lie though. Jimmy was trash in 2018 before the injury. His 5 games were a fluke against lesser or disinterested competition and then he came back to earth in 2018 before he got hurt. Now Brock is proving just how much he held this franchise back.

The Crappalo Fan club are really good spin doctors. Still hanging on for dear life.

Ring you lose all validity when talking 49ers QB's. Please exit the room.

I'm sorry, but anyone who ever defended Jimmy should really not be telling anyone about QBs right now.

Says the one who wanted to bench Brock Purdy for Josh Johnson…..leave now.

oh man I wish you could find receipts of this
It's the truth.

The receipts of this was posted about two days ago.

It's only truth for those incapable of reading beyond a 4th grade level. Now, I don't think that applies to anyone here, but I guess we'll find out shortly.

yeah you definitely lose credibility with this one.

Yeah, that's got to be one of the dumbest statements any of us has ever seen…..Ever! But then again, consider the source.

Two things: that quote is from when Purdy was something like 5/12 for <50 yards and an int and clearly hurting from his oblique injury. If you're going to take that quote as a definite statement that I wanted Purdy benched forever, feel free, but it'd be incorrect. I'll happily own that post, but I'd hope that those that defended Jimmy for 10,000+ posts would be willing to also admit that their posts were magnitudes worse.

Second, wasn't there just a post about not going out of your way to attack posters?

he attacked the post, not the poster

You know, I love to listen to some podcasts specially when I have my work out.
And I made the giant mistake to listen to the Ringer podcast after Saturday´s games. You know, I´m a pretty naive guy and well I was happy, Kyle smashed Pete Carroll´s stupid Monopoly guy head so why not?
Remember that Steven Ruiz guy that thinks Baker Mayfield and Colt McCoy are better QBs than Purdy? Well he thinks that Brock had a bad game yesterday. Not a bad first half. A bad game. Yeah I know.^^ But you know maybe he´s right. I guess I could have played yesterday and the Niners would have scored 50 points at least. I mean it´s so easy to play in Kyle´s offense right?
I wanted to be mad then I thought about all mighty Justin Herbert playing like an affraid rookie in the second half yesterday. The same Justin Herbert that according to Steven Ruiz is better than Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.
I can tell you one thing about Joe Burrow. He would never have lost that game because he´s a f**king killer and he doesn´t need a bazooka to do it.

So overall I think I understand where this "Is Brock Purdy for real?" is coming from. It´s not because he´s the last pick of the draft. It´s because he doesn´t have a cannon and he ´s not an athletic marvel. He´s not gonna throw 50 yards outside the numbers on one foot. And so those media guys think "Oh must be Kyle Shanahan right? No way a guy like Purdy can play like that right?".
But that´s the beauty of this sport. The Goat didn´t have John Elway´s arm and he didn´t have Randal Cunningham´s legs. What he had was that calm, that poise in the pocket, this ability to live in the present and just focus on the next play. And he was clutch! Clutch!!!
So we´ll see what Brock will do in the future but I can tell you one thing. He´s living in the present. He missed some throws in the first half, well so what? He didn´t throw 4 interceptions like Trevor Lawrence.
He came back in the second half, was almost perfect and went for the fatality on the Aiyuk throw. This kid is special.
The Niners played 7 games with him as the QB. In 6 of those 7 games, they scored at least 33 points. With Brock Purdy the Niners score almost 35 points per game.
The Niners are on fire offensively and at some point you would think the QB is doing something right.
