aleast he is confident in letting it go, we have had too many QBs here in the past that wouldn't let ot go and take a sack or check down.

If we cant discuss the good and the bad from a game then we might as well lock the thread until next weekend.

Why not simply let those that like to discuss what happened, discuss what happened?

Can we choose plays where something bad actually happened to criticize though? Because picking plays that had a positive result to criticize is what creates needless arguments. Just a thought.

Nah. Let's just choose em all. Literally 100% of them are up for discussion,...unless the mods choose otherwise?

Lol okay, dude. 100%. Let's spend time criticizing the wildly successful plays. Sounds like a great forum experience.

Where's Kap

Where he belongs.

If anyone missed it - I looked it up. kap had 5 passing touchdowns in his first 5 games. 4 of them against the patriots. He also had 3 rushing

Kap wasn't on that list for political reasons then. Or else just the dumbass making the chart wasn't a 49ers fan in 2012.
Yeah, I usually don't like to go that route but that was my thought. Between his legal preceding and all that happened with the nfl - I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't show it for a reason.

Wish my 27th account wasn't banned from Twitter. I'd love to tell that guy what an eejit he is.

Why must he be listed?

Apparently you started being a 49er fan in 2019. The reason is because he had more than 5 TDs in his first 5 starts as a 49ers QB.

And? What makes him notable?

READ THE TWEET. It says "TDs in first five starts." Kaepernick had SEVEN passing TDs in his first five starts which CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY means he belongs on the list. There is not a desk strong enough to withstand the level of headdeasking this discussion calls for.

Except it wasn't a "list." Purdy was being compared to Jimmy, for obvious reasons. Throwing in Montana and Young for effect. Adding Kaep would not have given that graphic better effect.

Yah, Kap would be irrelevant to the comparison. Incumbent QB (of sorts) and Past Greats,

Guess Jeff Garcia should be added for no reason as well.

Y.A. Title had 5 TD passes in his first 5 starts for the Niners as well. EFFECT.

This is first five CAREER starts, is it not?

Oh you're right. Tittle had 6 TD passes in his first 5 career starts. He "should have been on there."

Our receivers are just not used to a QB going for the killshot whenever its available.
He can scramble, so our WR need to keep playing to get open until play is over.

Most likely. Still not used to a QB who can see the field. Purdy has the things you can't teach.

Shanahan was also not happy after that I assume because he schemed to get Deebo open and Brock passed it up.

It was a Jimmy play. Ayuk beat his man with no safety over the top. Purdy made the right read. This Ironically will open up Deebo on the crosser in the future.

I was thinking the same thing. Even though this failed, this is good to get on film. Teams need to respect the deep route and can't sell out on Deebo now.

This is first five CAREER starts, is it not?

Yup, and Garcia didn't even throw 5 TDs in his first 5 career starts. Kap was left off for obvious reasons. Not a big deal, but it's funny seeing people that hate him trying to justify it with lies

Just corrected myself. Tittle had 6 in his first 5 career starts. There's a Kaep thread if you want to keep pushing a narrative.

I agree with this. It's possible that Aiyuk's route was just a decoy but I highly doubt Purdy would throw to a decoy. Aiyuk realized Deebo was open and was setting up to block. He doesn't quit on routes. He was just surprised.
  1. Look I get it some people hate just to hate every one acts every throw Mahomes, Allen or Brady make are perfect every time it just does not happen for obvious reasons not every pass that Purdy throws is going to be perfect lol, but to hate on him because a couple throws could have been potential tds and ended up 30 yard plays is ridiculous. I know like alot you, you have been watching the NFL and niners for years and some players just stand out and Purdy does that for me does that mean he's going to be in the hall of Fame no lol, but he is fun to watch and they seem like a better team with him. I remember watching Mahomes in some of his first NFL games going this guy is good and he had "it" am I saying Purdy is going to be Mahomes definitely not but Purdy has the "it" factor to I love watching him play.

Something else that is still very new to them.

Nice so he'd make the list after Kap, got it
Please, no more about a stupid chart.

I also thought Aiyuk might have seen the safety came up towards Deebo and thought the pass was already thrown to Deebo. And like you said, Aiyuk getting ready to block for Deebo.

Kyle needs to find that balance between requiring his receivers blocking downfield and knowing they could get the ball with Purdy.

We saw Mahomes throw 3 picks in a game this year.

End of the day its the mental fortitude to keep pushing all game regardless of circumstances. Purdy has done that so far.

I haven't seen anything that I can criticize Purdy about. Any lack of arm strength isn't something to criticize him for. It is wha tit is. He makes the most out of his ability and his on field awareness makes up for any physical shortcomings. Do I wish he could throw 40 yards on a string between 2 defenders or lay a 60 yard pass over a defender into the receivers hands. Of course I do but very few QBs can do those things. If he could throw like that then he wouldn't be a 49er. He would have been a high 1st round pick.
Aiyuk owes Purdy 2 TDs. I'm looking forward to that collection!
