Shanahan was also not happy after that I assume because he schemed to get Deebo open and Brock passed it up.

He wasn't happy with Kittle running the wrong route against Washington until it ended up a touchdown.

Shanahan has said before he wants the QB to throw to the open guy, and PREFERS the QB to throw to the deeper kill shot if it's open. If he was mad about that play, the reason was because it didn't work. But that's on Aiyuk, not BCB.

The play was for Deebo... so this would be on Brock not hitting a guy who had no one within 10 yards of him.

Every receiver is an option on almost every play in this offense. You always have a primary, but there are alerts as well every other route. Regardless, Aiyuk needs to finish his routes. If he finishes that and it's a touchdown, this isn't isn't even a conversation.
Until Brock Purdy wins multiple Super Bowls blindfolded while throwing every pass for 20+ air yards outside the numbers while facing backwards, there will be weirdos like Rollins and his minions lmao

I know someone was saying this yesterday but dude on ESPN radio is saying Brock has done nothing but throw to open targets.

And now they're comparing him to Trevor f**king Simeon.

I turned the s**t off. I understand not crowning the guy yet but this is just flat out stupid.

aleast he is confident in letting it go, we have had too many QBs here in the past that wouldn't let ot go and take a sack or check down.

If we cant discuss the good and the bad from a game then we might as well lock the thread until next weekend.

Why not simply let those that like to discuss what happened, discuss what happened?

Can we choose plays where something bad actually happened to criticize though? Because picking plays that had a positive result to criticize is what creates needless arguments. Just a thought.

Nah. Let's just choose em all. Literally 100% of them are up for discussion,...unless the mods choose otherwise?

Lol okay, dude. 100%. Let's spend time criticizing the wildly successful plays. Sounds like a great forum experience.

Where's Kap

Where he belongs.

If anyone missed it - I looked it up. kap had 5 passing touchdowns in his first 5 games. 4 of them against the patriots. He also had 3 rushing

Kap wasn't on that list for political reasons then. Or else just the dumbass making the chart wasn't a 49ers fan in 2012.
Yeah, I usually don't like to go that route but that was my thought. Between his legal preceding and all that happened with the nfl - I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't show it for a reason.

Wish my 27th account wasn't banned from Twitter. I'd love to tell that guy what an eejit he is.

Why must he be listed?

Apparently you started being a 49er fan in 2019. The reason is because he had more than 5 TDs in his first 5 starts as a 49ers QB.

And? What makes him notable?

READ THE TWEET. It says "TDs in first five starts." Kaepernick had SEVEN passing TDs in his first five starts which CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY means he belongs on the list. There is not a desk strong enough to withstand the level of headdeasking this discussion calls for.

Except it wasn't a "list." Purdy was being compared to Jimmy, for obvious reasons. Throwing in Montana and Young for effect. Adding Kaep would not have given that graphic better effect.

Yah, Kap would be irrelevant to the comparison. Incumbent QB (of sorts) and Past Greats,

Guess Jeff Garcia should be added for no reason as well.

Y.A. Title had 5 TD passes in his first 5 starts for the Niners as well. EFFECT.

This is first five CAREER starts, is it not?

Oh you're right. Tittle had 6 TD passes in his first 5 career starts. He "should have been on there."

No he didn't. He had three. The little * indicates he started the game.

His first season was 1948, not 1949. He had 4 TD's in his first game. Again, there's a Kaep thread for whatever agenda you're trying to push. Let's keep this about Purdy and football.

115.09 passer rating in 7 games, with multiple rushing TD's and zero fumbles.

These critics need to point to a comp that had a stretch similar to that before falling off the cliff and Simeon's peak isn't even remotely close.

Right now the only one I can think of is Nick Foles.

lol, you been here how long and you don't know this ?
You think the BS be spouted now is bad wait till he loses his first game, the kiid sucks he did not go 18-0 and throw for 12,000 yards and 75 tds 😂 and his arm strength is absolutely fricking terrible smh

You know you're good when you have haters from other fan bases trying to tear you down. I love to see it.

it's like us with Russ Wilson - took years for many of us to accept that he was elite in Seattle. It's just part of being a fan of a team.

As long as his first loss is sometime in the next regular season, it'll be fine. Lol

I think David Lombardi said something like all the 49er receivers were averaging 15+ yards per catch. That's insane, but that also makes sense if Kyle is seeing that Purdy can hit those deep targets accurately. If a QB like Purdy can accurately hit those deep targets, you take advantage of that and draw up deeper patterns. The question I have is do you change the offense to suit Purdy's long ball accuracy, or do you stay with the positionless football that Kyle currently has. There's strengths and weaknesses for both approaches.

I'm so encouraged by how quickly he adapts to defensive schemes thrown at him! Hopefully next game he isn't as nervous initially, and plays cleaner in the first half.

if he can string together 3 more full games (since we know he always balls in the second), we have a very very good chance at the Super Bowl.
