I agree with this. It's possible that Aiyuk's route was just a decoy but I highly doubt Purdy would throw to a decoy. Aiyuk realized Deebo was open and was setting up to block. He doesn't quit on routes. He was just surprised.

We need to develop those longer/secondary routes, like what made the Seahawks so good.

They all knew what to do when a play broke down and Wilson scrambled.

edit: i know the play in question wasn't a broken one

I think its coming. They are learning Brock's style.

Ray Ray said it well, "can't take any plays off." If you get open, Purdy has shown he might just find you.

Exactly our receivers know if they got 30 yards downfield the ball was not coming there way with garappolo in there that has all changed with Purdy he is looking to get the ball downfield

Indeed. This is making our offense more dangerous.

You know you're good when you have haters from other fan bases trying to tear you down. I love to see it.

it's like us with Russ Wilson - took years for many of us to accept that he was elite in Seattle. It's just part of being a fan of a team.
Wilson elite ? lol.. he was good at scrambling and thats it

Denial is not just a river in Egypt…
it's not and what you saw this year proves it. Without scrambling he was the worst QB

Oh, you were being serious? Lol okay nvm.

Let's carry on.

That's what makes him notable. Let's move on.

"Purdy enters the season among the top group of prospective first-rounders at the position and may even draw some [Drew] Brees comparisons," writes 247Sports' Charles Power in pegging Purdy to the New Orleans Saints. "He doesn't play with the type of supporting cast that Lawrence or Fields enjoy, but Purdy has still managed to be one of college football's best quarterbacks through his first two seasons in Ames. It was Purdy, not Trevor Lawrence, who set the NCAA record for highest passer efficiency by a true freshman in 2018. He may not have the pure physical tools of Lawrence, Fields or Lance, but is an accurate, quick processor and excels when facing pressure."

"Obviously he's young, but what he's done so far has been impressive. He doesn't have the biggest arm, but he's functional and really accurate as a passer, too," ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay said in September. "I think he's poised. You can see it. You can tell he's intelligent in processing things quickly. There are times where he gets a little impatient and takes off to run because he trusts that, but that's really common with a lot of young quarterbacks. You can see it. Then talking to the coaches, they brought us up to speed about who he is as a person and how smart he is, and how much he believes in himself and his ability to make plays."

Nailed it! Wow.

Yeah that's him. He's Brees with some poor man's Russell Wilson mobility. He can be a super star. I think we hit on one here. They were right about him.

Wilson's 10 yard split was 1.55 as well, so they have similar burst. Fair comparisons, but he's not running around and just chucking it deep like Wilson did. He fits the "system" with Kyle. I'm still sticking with my Joe Montana comparison, especially in terms of how he meshes with Kyle the way Montana meshed with Walsh. Disclaimer (again) - I'm not saying he's going to be Montana so everyone relax lol.
