Lots of big misses from Purdy in the first half.

I really don't think that journalist knows what he is writing about. He is worse in his analysis than Grant Cohn. Fortunately he is not as loud as Cohn

you can use slow mo, multiple angles, and all22 to find misses on any play and write a monday morning qb article about it.... the article is a joke as far as I am concerned and has no reflection from what the guy under center is seeing when he drops back, the pressure he feels from having demon possessed rushers bear down on him trying to take his head off or block passing lanes, and coverages rotate and change after the snap... what Brock did live against the cowgirls was impressive and if the author can't see that he is a fool

He's washed that's why he needed the juice he can't get separation anymore. CWard knows

Deandre Hopkins is absolutely not washed. He didnt play an entire season, but he was very good when he played. His 2022 season extrapolated for 17 games would have been 1354 yards and 6 touchdowns. And thats with playing alongside an underperforming starting QB and a backup QB.

However, the point is moot because for the first time in what seems like decades, I would argue we are completely set at the WR position.

Look at the career stats which have fallen off a cliff last 2 seasons. He's steroid boy. He may be avail cuz ARZ knows the contract is a massive overpay at this point.

I agree with you that BP is set with receivers also

A lot of these are pretty petty and there's more to Purdy not making the play but I do agree with him here. He should've been more patient and hit Deebo.

lol what?

pause at 13 sec, clean pocket Deebo wide open. Clearly a miss.

I maintain it was petty. Was he open? Sure, but not as open as it looks.

Pettiness like this. Explain exactly when he's supposed to get this ball out. With a guy in his face this would take a tremendous throw. A 50 yard bomb rolling the opposite direction lol. Petty...

Purdy did have several misses this game. You can tell the pressure got to him early in the game and didn't really have a running game to rely on. But IMO, as the game went on and got the feel for the pressure, and run game got going, he started to let it rip.

The Cowboys game was good for his development. High stakes game that had relentless pass rush. I think he'll be a lot better this game due to that.

Pretty sure that has something to do with who is throwing him the football. He's still terrifying in that he's able to continually make contested catches. He's not like a Desean Jackson where his game will collapse as he ages either.

I would take him in a heartbeat but there's no way that the Cards would trade him to the 49ers. I think he'd be a great fit for Chicago to give Fields an elite outside target and if they don't do everything they can to get him, they're nuts.

And he is 30 already. You would expect him to fall off quickly from here.

He's never been a speed guy, he's always been about route running and using his size and body positioning to come down with the ball. There's no reason to think that he's suddenly going to fall off due to a dropoff in speed.

This season with a combination of Kyler Murray, Colt McCoy and David Blough, he still averaged around 80 yards a game, good for over 1,300 receiving yards in a full season. Get him in a better offense with steady QB play and he'll be back to Pro Bowl performance.
Is this the Purdy thread??

Yeah wtf?!? lol
We have more and more guys came out and said they are so impressed by Purdy.

This is the list from what I remembered.
Kurt Warner
TJ O'Sullivan
Josh McCown
David Carr
Dan Orlovsky

These are the guys who actually watch all 22 films. I feel like most of the guys not impressed by Purdy didn't actually watched film, instead just have a lazy take that the weapons and Kyle can make anyone look good.

He got hurt last year (playing with a s**t QB), and he was suspended for 6 games this year. His stats havent fallen off a cliff, he just hasnt played a full season the last 2 years.

Hopkins average from rookie year until 2020: 1350 yards, 8 touchdowns
Hopkins full season extrapolated average the last 2 seasons: 1164 yards, 10 touchdowns

His full season pace of 1354 yards in 2022 is almost exactly his career average.
Some of you folks are already losing sight of the fact that Purdy is a rookie who didn't even play the whole season.

I still can't wrap my mind around how far he's come in such short time.

This should be clear to everyone, but here we are. He had Davis Mills, an underperforming Kyler Murray and Colt Mccoy as his QBs the last 2 years.

Another good post. His full season projections are right in line with his career averages, with a substantially worse QB than his earlier career QB.
