Lots of big misses from Purdy in the first half.

I really don't think that journalist knows what he is writing about. He is worse in his analysis than Grant Cohn. Fortunately he is not as loud as Cohn

you can use slow mo, multiple angles, and all22 to find misses on any play and write a monday morning qb article about it.... the article is a joke as far as I am concerned and has no reflection from what the guy under center is seeing when he drops back, the pressure he feels from having demon possessed rushers bear down on him trying to take his head off or block passing lanes, and coverages rotate and change after the snap... what Brock did live against the cowgirls was impressive and if the author can't see that he is a fool

The article brings up a few plays that we could've done better since we didn't do much in the 1st half. How is that a joke, like do we not want to improve.... the author even states "While it was far from a perfect performance by Purdy, the rookie quarterback remained unfazed and played through the end of the game with poise, creating the necessary plays when the 49ers needed the spark." how is that not saying he was impressive regardless of some missed plays early like did you not see this?

A lot of these are pretty petty and there's more to Purdy not making the play but I do agree with him here. He should've been more patient and hit Deebo.

lol what?

pause at 13 sec, clean pocket Deebo wide open. Clearly a miss.

I maintain it was petty. Was he open? Sure, but not as open as it looks.

Pettiness like this. Explain exactly when he's supposed to get this ball out. With a guy in his face this would take a tremendous throw. A 50 yard bomb rolling the opposite direction lol. Petty...

okay this play you can say the he threw the ball late wasn't accurate on what he wrote, but he still got the ball out and just was behind. It looked like the easier throw would be to Deebo actually on that play. You maintain petty, then what about the other plays where there was time to throw. Seems petty to say one play and just ignore everything else.

The fact this author rates Purdy's performance as a C means he loses all credibility as a serious football analyst

These are the guys who actually watch all 22 films. I feel like most of the guys not impressed by Purdy didn't actually watched film, instead just have a lazy take that the weapons and Kyle can make anyone look good.

Hes been damn impressive and poised for a 7th round pick.

This is a good thing. It just means he has been playing so much better than expectation that his bar has now raise by so much. It is definitely unfair to him, but there is no way to considered him to be a rookie at this point.

regardless of this guys rating him or anyone else rating him, we should always be looking to improve.

Seeing them clear out the backfield on a key third down against Dallas (was it 3rd and 5? something like that) was enough for me to conclude that Shanny is completely confident in what he has with Purdy. I'm going to ride that confidence train, although I won't be surprised if Philly pops the balloon.

You'll always have two types - the ones who stay objective and give credit where credit is due. Then you have the ones who are always trying to tear others down and only identify miscues or imperfections. It is what it is.
Failure's last gasp will arrive on Super Bowl Sunday, when the 2022 Arizona Cardinals become the first team in three seasons to miss out on a homefield championship.
Shame.
In their place, we should all cheer for the 49ers.
That's because San Francisco's quarterback, Brock Purdy, is local. A Valley product as Super Bowl quarterback is like a Valley kid going No. 1 in the NHL draft (Auston Matthews) or a Valley kid winning National League MVP (Cody Bellinger). It adds to our growing status as a grassroots mecca.

Imagine the pain that comes with earning a playoff berth, possessing a Super Bowl roster and Super Bowl expectations, only to be stuck with a third-string quarterback forced into action due to injury.

In Arizona, we don't have to imagine. We lived that nightmare of futility with Ryan Lindley.

To the contrary, San Francisco is undaunted and unbeaten with its third-string quarterback. Entering an NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, the 49ers are soaring with Mr. Irrelevant at the helm, a quarterback selected with the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

But most of all, the 49ers are a big, physical football team that loves to block and tackle and would rather run through you than by you. They have electrifying playmakers on both sides of the ball. They have an aggression, a confidence and an identity that makes me swoon and makes me jealous.

I want a team like the 49ers. Even if they end up celebrating an NFL championship inside State Farm Stadium, inside the Cardinals locker room.

Imagine the fuel/embarrassment that might provide our football team.

That's my mind of cards fan! He loves his team so much that he wants them to be furious from a rival winning on their field. Hahah my man.

They don't understand. Lance can't run it this good. Jimmy G would be hard pressed to do so. Nick Mullens can't. It's not just a system. Purdy is good.
Brock needs to bring a pause button to the Eagles game lol

Don't leave the pocket just yet
