Wow, these plays are mighty impressive for a young QB. A lot of other young QBs would've pressed and possibly forced a bad throw. The Cowboys' defense was playing out of their minds, but Purdy didn't force anything.

A lot of VETERANS would have pressed as well (Dak, Jimmy, Allen, etc.).

This kids processing, poise and millisecond decision making is elite. This is not normal.

While others were attempting to bash Brock's performance, I was trying to pump it up. 😅

People shouldn't be judged by the way they perform when everything is going well. Instead, they should be judged by the way they perform when facing high levels of adversity. I will take consistency over flashy 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm very proud of the kid. This site loses context and has unrealistic expectations at times. That's why these games are so important to appreciate. No TD's, No INT's. No problem! There's far more that goes into a W. Proud of the whole team too.

That defense was hitting hard all game long and the offense kept delivering body blow after body blow to the Dallas D. I really do believe Shanahan was saving the razzle dazzle for Philly. We'll see in 4 days.
i'm not expecting any raz daz but i hope we can get that philly defense thinking there's 20 guys on offense

By raz and daz, I mean to have the eagles LB's and S's heads on a swivel all game long trying to figure out whether its an inside run, outside run or if its playaction pass.

If you guys can't see how this guy is infinitely better than those scrubs of the past I don't know what to tell you. Purdy has QBing where you really need it. Between the ears. Always the most underrated aspect. Certainly the most important aspect. He has plenty enough athletic ability. His size is fine. Most important is the way his mind sees the game. You can win with that.

This, 100% there have much more talented quarterbacks but being a young quarterback in this most don't have the poise and instinct and is obviously very smart those are things you can't teach, his game should get even better he's definitely a legit quarterback.
Totally agree. I kept thinking why the bust rate of picking QB is so high in the early rounds. The hardest part of evaluating these kids is the mental aspect of the game and you hope as an evaluator that they gain it thru training and experience. Some get there faster than others while others don't even reach their full potential. On top of their physical skills, the "between the ears" is probably the hardest to find. Then you need enough good players around him to succeed and a coach that gets the most out of him. For a rookie, what Brock is doing is truly special.

NFL showed highlights of the ISU-Oklahoma game between BCB and Hurts back in 2019. Purdy was ballin that night.
We gonna rock out with our Brock out
This all seems too good to be true folks. I mean, is it realistic to believe a rookie QB playing half a season can win the Super Bowl? lol

Just saying that sounds weird.

I know the super bowl rides on this and that should be enough motivation, but knowing the competitor that Purdy is - this adds fuel to the fire or him in this game.

i think he has 4 TD game. Three passing and one rushing. The question is - does he finally fumble or throw a pick?? I sure hope not.

Hahaha it's realistic, just very very unlikely. Which is why it's never happened.

usually the best rookies go to a bad team, which is why they typically don't win much. It's sort of a perfect storm here with Purdy, a young talented rookie qb (which wasn't known come draft time) on a super stacked team with arguably the best offensive mind in the nfl.

Im just glad that us niner fans seemed to have finally caught a break after 20+ years of looking! I hope he doesn't break our hearts. Lol

And Oklahoma was loaded with future NFL players. On that defense you had Ronnie Perkins, Neville Gallimore, Tre Brown, Kenneth Murray and Nik Bonitto, some decent defensive talent.

Any notable players on the ISU offense or defense outside of Purdy?
I keep coming back to the idea Purdy will need to make some plays for us to win.

The question is - is he that guy? Will he make that throw, scramble off script and make a play etc. he certainly has shows flashes, but this it.... It's do you have it or not.

He already has. Off schedule pass to Kittle was the key to the lone touchdown drive. The narrative against Purdy is exactly the same narrative against Montana for his entire career - no elite arm strength, small, not fast.

I think his match up with Hurts in college gives us a clue. Kid is a legit gunslinger in a shootout.

Offense wise they had Charlie Kolar who was a terrific tight end that is now in Baltimore. They also had Breece Hall and Kene Nwangu who are both RBs in the NFL currently. They also had Deshaunte Jones who was a really good college receiver but never made it in the NFL.

Yeah, I think he's shown that, but everyone keep putting him in the "game manager" category.

Purdy had to carry ISU on his back the whole time since he started. If he had a few NFL material teammates in that team, they would have beaten OU. We're lucky we have a QB who also makes players around him play better. So we have a QB with high IQ, excellent Qbacking skills, elite leadership skill and still have so much time and so much room to improve.
