QB Brock Purdy Thread

As opposed to the posters that say Trey cant even cut being the 9ers backup qb next year?

We don't know how Mahomes' career will play out. Maybe he will be GOAT, maybe not.

Didn't say he was gonna be the GOAT, just an All time great. Also didn't imply they all have great measurables

But Mahomes DOES have great measurables and he's gonna be an all timer. I'd also argue Elway and Marino were pretty damn stacked.

So Josh Allen isnt intelligent now? He isnt mature now? They have one of the worst running games in the NFL, and yet you call him having to carry that offense "hero ball." Thats just insanity to me. Only on this board would you find anyone who would prefer Brock Purdy.

Now will Purdy continue to progress and become a top tier QB? Maybe, maybe not. Couldnt be happier with where he is right now. But man you guys take it too far.

This is not true. They had 3 RB's who averaged 4.6 YPC or higher. 2 of those RB's averaged 5.4 YPC and higher. The real issue is that Allen should be put on a leash and not be asked to drop back 754 times in a season in order to protect him from himself.

I tried to buy Ocean Front Property in Arizona once, but I don't think they understood what an ocean was....

If they did, Jim Druckenmiller would be in the HOF.

Ouch. That name hurts my soul.

You knew he was never going to be an elite QB just by the last name.

I just remember bareheaded Kevin Greene headbutting helmeted Jim Drukenmiller back in the day.

He still has a tendency to fumble and throw boneheaded picks when under pressure. While its not all his fault, it partially is because its his job to protect the ball.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. Or course certain physical characteristic thresholds need to be met. No one is arguing against that. We're saying that "elite" measurables don't necessarily translate to a winning QB formula. And none of the all time greats had/have elite physical measurables. So why continue coveting them?

Mahomes is gonna end up being an all time great and he's got some pretty damn good measurables

No where near Allen though. Or Herbert. And remember, the consensus was Mahomes was way over drafted and should have been a 2nd or 3rd round project. So that example proves my point.

Yup. I remember draft day they said Reid has found his next Favre. I don't know if Mahomes becomes Mr HOF without Reid, Reid is about the best HC to come into the league with, one of at least. I mean look what Reid did with freakin Alex.

Lot of that was because people thought he'd take a lot longer to develop. Not his toolbox.

Mahomes may not quite have their arm but it's damn close. He's easily as athletic as both of those guys. Depends on what measurables we are talking about.

Compared to Allen and Herbert it's probably slightly worse. But it's still elite.
