The scouting trade is fundamentally broken. Scouts are terrified to f**k up. So they elevate players that are less likely to get them fired — traits over fit and production. They're scared people making scared recommendations.

This is also how you get god awful draft takes in this form about mediocre players like Goff, Trubisky and Zac Wilson. It's nonsensical to have a strong opinion about a player in such an obviously flawed evaluation. It's literally all a complete guess.

Purdy is just more proof that draft scouting is a social media game, not one deep in material productivity.

Like, I guarantee you some dudes in this very thread are going to lose their minds in the draft form over not picking some dude. Over what? They literally know nothing.

Yes it was. I don't think anyone has questioned his run blocking ability. People have questioned his pass pro though. This season he has given up a 0.9% sack rate and a 5.1% pressure rate. Those are really good numbers. This post season he has given up a 14.7% pressure rate but 0 sacks so far. And still, that was a bad look. 😂

I'm a firm believer in supply and demand. With billions of dollars @ stake, if there are relatively easy "fixes" to finding diamonds in the rough, all 32 teams would be successful in doing so.

We have the advantage of hindsight so it's pretty easy to say now.

Given that,...if you feel that it's broken,...then how should it be fixed?

And do you realize that it should be fixed here as well if we waited till the last pick in the draft to make a move for this kid?

I don't believe that chart. Anyone can make a chart. I need to see the stats themselves. His production dipped but he was still solid under pressure and was very efficient on 3rd down against DAL. He absolutely lit up SEA the week before.
