Wow, what a FANTASTIC article. That's one I would've thought you had to pay for it's so good. Now I have to try even harder not to get too hyped up.

I said it when he was drafted, our next ring will come with Purdy at QB.

The kid has had to work for it, look where he was drafted.

I just think guys like Purdy & Brady have to work harder for something that is just handed to other guys.

Brock knows he's always one mistake away from getting benched.

That applies to every late QB drafted ever. There is a reason people have to bring up Tom Brady as a success story. Tom Brady was almost 23 years ago, a sign that this s**t is rare. If we are lucky, we make the playoffs. If he is good, we win the division abd get a home game. Anything beyond that is a miracle. Brock being on a talented team will help tons, but I'd be realistic on expectations. It will be a different ball game with defensive coordinators game planning for him.

Ok, let's be honest NFL football sucks right now. Collectively this is probably the worst football iv'e ever seen. You can say the same for D1 college football.

Brady got his chance because you could still hit any player on the field (Hit on #1 overall pick Drew Bledsoe) not because the coaches wanted to see what the 6th rounder could do). Players are playing for $ not pride, respect, or passion. The league is more WWE than old school NFL. It took two QB's to go down for Purdy to get his shot and he knows that.

Purdy has something I don't see out of high first rounders or 2/3 rounders. He looks like he is playing for pride & respect. I saw that during practice in the pre-season. Trust me I don't know the kid personally but I'm not guessing all you have to do is look at him. Purdy looks different.

Expectations??? Purdy knows he is expected to fail based on where he was drafted.

Oh, clearly not, okay cool.
This stuff is so cool.

The process of giving Brock Purdy a better fastball started with the quarterback encircled by 3-D motion capture cameras, which track and lay out every aspect of his throwing motion. Here is what the cameras found:

• He created too much elbow extension and elbow flexion as he brought his arm up.

• He needed to settle into a better pre-pass stance, which involved dropping his hips and engaging his glute muscles.

• He was not drawing nearly enough from his hip muscles on the throw.

• His backstroke was elongated.

• His front arm had too much movement and was not connected to the throw.

Once they identified the inefficiencies in his motion, Hewlett and a partner, physical therapist and clinical specialist Dr. Tom Gormely, embarked on a complementary weight and throwing program designed to safely expedite an eight-week improvement over the course of four or five weekly sessions.

An example: a landmine pull to press, which involves a person standing next to a bench press bar with weight on it, gripping the outer portion of the bar, lifting it up with one hand and pushing through the bar with the other hand as the lower body rotates through, almost as if the person is throwing a shotput.

One of my favorite gym exercises, really effective and you don't need to go heavy at all. You don't need to be a gym hardcore or use a lot of imagination to get how this would benefit a quarterback in particular.

Love that he's had the clutch factor since college. And I love that we listen to our scouts on late round guys. They know their stuff and have proven it time and again. Let's hope Purdy is the next huge example.

"He took a team that was really down, along with his head coach, and all the players there, [head coach] Matt Campbell, and made them a perennial power," Lynch explained. "They talked about things like him being a clutch guy. When they needed three points on a two-minute drive, he'd get the three points. When they needed a touchdown, he'd get the touchdown. So there was consistent strong [play]."

Slowik and others inside the 49ers building remained confident that Purdy could contribute. San Francisco selected the Cyclones quarterback with pick No. 262, the last in the draft. But why not just wait to see if they could sign him as an undrafted free agent?

"We had some people in the building very convicted on him," Lynch shared. "So when it came to that final pick in the draft, it was kind of a no-brainer once he was there because we really wanted him as a free agent. We didn't want to take that chance, so we went ahead and drafted him."

So it was griese and a scout who was high on purdy. Didn't sound like Shanahan was involved according to lynch.

Kid will win 6 superbowls.
