That is interesting. I swear I just read it was scheduled for Wednesday

Any vet they sign would have to accept less than $10 million or he would be making more than both the guys ahead of him on the roster. That would be weird to have an inactive player getting paid more than the 2 active QBs.

I think we can all agree that Kyle Shanahan is very good with getting the best out of his QB's and designing an offense around them. But if there is one thing he cannot do, it's turn an average QB into a good or great QB. Winston has SUCKED BALLS at every stop he's made in the NFL. We have already seen what average QB's do in a Shanahan offense. They SUCK BALLS.

The best bet? Draft a complete unknown like Purdy. An unknown that exhibits the tangible skills that Shanahan wants. Let the kid learn under Shanahan. I really do think this is the best option.

Has this always worked for Kyle? I have to admit that answer is NO, it has not. CJ Beathard is a prime example of a Shanahan draft pick that did not turn out well at all. You could say the same about Nick Mullens, although Nick did have his moments.

It's a throw of the dice either way you look at it. But marginal players like Winston and others do not excite me in the slightest, nor do I think they would do well in a Shanahan system.

You have a point.

We only lost two quarterbacks in one game in the championship game, and we still will never see three active QBs in a regular season game. We had Drake inactive some games, so would you rather have our #3 on the sideline, or rotate D linemen in?

Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday and an hour later it was delayed again till Friday, just kill me now. Puts the timeline approximately if it's indeed the shortest recovery about the second week of September but clearly only an approximation.

We had 3 QBs on the 53 man week 1 and 2 last year. Purdy inactive. From Week 3 on we had QB 2-3 dressed until JG went down. Then we had QB 3-4 dressed.

Then we were putting a headset into CMC in the Champ game.

I'm not calling for us to dress 3 QBs. I am saying if history is a teacher, for like 90% of the year last season, we didn't have any inactive QB, even with 3 QBs going into the year.

lol
Ok Friday then lol
This already feels like the longest off season in a long ass time lol
For me it's a perfect timeline, give Trey a game or two to see if he's progressed.

If he looks good announce that Brock needs more time to rehab, if not send in Brock to get us on track.

It is a shame he won't get the Offseason to improve, but as the 4th and then 3rd string he didn't really have an Offseason last year and was still really good when he went in.
Wishing Purdy all the good vibes. Hoping he's fully back sometime in September (if not before).

People say this every offseason.

Last offseason was the longest offseason ever because of Deebo.

The offseason before that was the longest offseason ever because of the trade up to 3 and who to take at QB.
