I don't know man; I just can't comprehend how anyone can be unquestionably anything after an 8 game sample size and another done for after 4 games. We'll find out I guess. I like both of them and wouldn't be surprised if either one of them is the "guy" of this team to be honest

That's how I feel based on how the team--especially the team leaders-have spoken about Brock. They don't just rave about him; they're ready to fight someone if they slander Brock.

I don't view it that way. I think the 49ers have the perfect setup that's similar to the analogy of "having your cake and eating it too".

With Brock's injury, the 49ers are now set up to get another look at Trey. So while the team is behind Brock due to his performance last season, I think the team also admires Trey's talent and fit in the locker room. The only difference is that Trey has yet to fully prove he's capable of being the starter. Now he has that chance.

This whole situation is a win-win as far as I'm concerned. Either way the future of the 49ers QB position is currently in the locker room. And I think the team would support either QB as long as Trey proves his worth on the field.

Hopefully Brock comes back stronger.

The only two well known QB's that I could find who had surgery on their UCL's were Jake Delhomme and Carson Palmer.

Thanks YAC. I was just trying to look for some type of hope or encouragement that Purdy will be the same after surgery.

Delhomme's elbow injury was more like a baseball pitchers injury where it wore out over time. Palmers was an injury that occured in a game against the cowboys, much like Purdy's injury. Palmer's injury happened in 2008 and he went on to play like 9 more seasons after that.

Which is precisely the determining factor. Brock balled out of control. Trey needs to do the same this year.

Agreed. I'm not team Brock or team Trey. First and foremost, I root for the team and wants what's best for the organization. I hope they both ball out.

Rob Johnson had it done as well.

There just is not much of a track record for NFL QBs, let alone YOUNG NFL QBs.

When this all went down, I was reading about pitching prospects getting the surgery just to get as much velocity as possible in college to launch a MLB career. I could not find one that also played football, so I could not even find a duel sport baseball/football college QB that had Tommy johns to even start to build an amateur level baseline for a young player.

It is just a rare injury unless you are chucking baseballs at bleeding edge speed.
Prayers for BCB for a successful surgery tomorrow and a rapid and complete recovery.

Nick Mullens had UCL surgery. He avoided TJ surgery. Hopefully equally good news for Brock tomorrow but with a much better result to his career than Nick.

Palmer still played 8-9 more years after the surgery. Which means his elbow injury did not shorten his career. Just because Palmer didn't become a HOFer doesn't mean squat in the context of injury, surgery and recovery.

Hey, Delhomme might have been a SB winner if John Kasay manages to keep a kickoff from going out of bounds, lol.
1 more day til his surgery correct?

Young bull will be back way sooner than expected.
