That's how I feel based on how the team--especially the team leaders-have spoken about Brock. They don't just rave about him; they're ready to fight someone if they slander Brock.
I don't view it that way. I think the 49ers have the perfect setup that's similar to the analogy of "having your cake and eating it too".
With Brock's injury, the 49ers are now set up to get another look at Trey. So while the team is behind Brock due to his performance last season, I think the team also admires Trey's talent and fit in the locker room. The only difference is that Trey has yet to fully prove he's capable of being the starter. Now he has that chance.
This whole situation is a win-win as far as I'm concerned. Either way the future of the 49ers QB position is currently in the locker room. And I think the team would support either QB as long as Trey proves his worth on the field.
