Yeah, originally I was going to say Brandon Aiyuk, but he's been picked ad nauseam, so I'll go with Talanoa as well.

I like all the guys suggested, but what if , not just a couple, but half a dozen have break out yrs (and it is possible with Aiyuk, Azeez, Banks, Jaylon Moore, Tarvarius, Huf) but ALSO guys like POE, maybe West, our new bookend EDGE, and maybe either our new RB or WR. What if we just have a flood of talent and we get TWO handfuls of breakouts….it's not that wild an idea in that Azeez and Aiyuk have already proven it to me. Jay moore also. But we could have a couple rd 6-7 or UDFAs not only make the squad but have break out yrs, besides.

Given that we really had only space for 4-5 additional guys on the squad, and then we loaded up at OL, EDGE, and CB/S….hey , we could see a bunch of guys have breakout yrs. Whoever does make it will have some very good talent playing right beside him…or around him, in the case of Trey.

I cannot express how excited i am still just at the beginning of PS. (Ok, OTAs). We are definitely forcing some borderline OLs out and bringing in new and better blood. Same at DBs, and even wiht loss of DJJones, et al on DL, we have some really nice guys in the wings that i can't wait to see them play.

This is strongest i have felt our team this early in many a yr. There is just so much really good competition at virtually all slots, that it is inconceivable to me that we don't have a substantially better team this yr than last.

Dont' expect this early on with Trey getting acclimated as starter. But he has a really good cast to work with, and overall, this team just has to be better than Last yr, esp at OL, DB, EDGE, with more than just a couple guys having breakout yrs.
Totally agree that we have a very strong team coming into the 2022 season.
We lost DJ Jones, Laken Tomlinson, and Kwan Williams - I think either Banks or Moore can replace Laken. Kinlaw coming back should take care of losing DJ Jones. Also getting the two rookie CB's as well as Talanoga's and Ambry's development should take care of losing Kwan.

Injuries are always a factor every season. So I'm wondering (knock on wood) who's the first to be hit with it.

Agreed with both you 2.

I'm going to go with a dark horse. While I think Aiyuk will become the primary I have a feeling Jennings is going to be the breakout player as Trey's security blanket. He's not going to have gaudy numbers but he's going to be huge for Trey and this offense.

I can see that happening, so much attention paid to Kittle, Deebo, & Aiyuk, JJ will be under the radar breakout candidate.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spank Bank and Jaylon Moore are break out players. They just need some time to prove themselves. Put them both at G and move Brunskill at RT and see what happens.

I agree with this too, Banks at LG, Moore at RG, not sure McGlinchey losses his starting spot, yet, not at a GTD $10.88M, I think Burford is the starting RT in 2023.

Seeing as how interior O-line is probably our biggest concern it sure would be nice if Banks and/or Moore become breakout players. Here's hoping.

Maybe Ambry can take another step and be another breakout candidate.
Jauaun Jennings at WR becomes dominant. Wishing the team signed him to an incentive laiden 4 year deal this offf season.

Same here on everything you said, but again it takes two to tango so to speak, maybe JJ didn't want to do a new deal, yet, we don't know.

Yeah, if he does, he makes Moseley expendable, plus with the Womack, Lenoir, & Castro-Fields picks, & Charvarius Ward signing, hoping Moseley stays, but doubt it.

with DEEVAH mentally out of football, I expect J1 to break out this year...

it'll be between Amber " HEARD " Thomas and Selsun Blue Huff!!!!

I think he has only been in the league 2 years and you can't give him an extension until after year 3.

I think greenlaw takes the step to be our best LB.

That's correct, but JJ was cut, so he was free to sign any deal he wants, so he could sign an extension now if he wanted too.
Jauan Jennings
Jordan Mason becomes the #2 back. Have a feeling about this dude.

It was interesting to hear both Maiocco and JLC say the secondary is now a strength of the team. They also told a story of Darqueze Dennard coming in and sleeping at the facility for the first week and learning as much as he could and then being thrust into playing and playing well. It sounds like Undlin is really high on him as our SCB (for your 53 projections). He's LOVES Verrett's leadership too...huge for a young secondary.

I think 9ers4eva would disagree with the DB's being a strength but it was an interesting take from them going from the #1 team need to a strength.

The RB competition will be fun to watch. I also think Mason has a chance to make it. Who would be gone though? Maybe Sermon or Jeff Wilson are traded?
