This thread is clearly the bargaining stage.

I assume that the Jimmy fans will get to the depression stage during OTAs and hopefully reach acceptance when he's finally off the team by training camp.

Unlikely he'll be gone unless we find a trade partner.
he gone.. trade partner or not

And some are still at the denial stage.

Sorry, that was a gimme.😝

Lol I hope he's gone. We'll have to wait and see though.

Only reason he isn't already gone is his injury guarantee.

I hope, but Lynch's words don't mirror this. Cutting Jimmy would amount to admitting they were wrong about his value and they played it wrong. I hope they can.

They said they would do jimmy a solid.. Jimmy said he wanted to go to a winner.

no one is wrong, no one wanted jimmy freshly coming off of surgery. Once he's cleared, he's gone

They also said they wouldn't cut him. So barring a trade (which to me means a QB injury around the league), I just don't see how Lynch can save face.

Exactly. Once cut, he can choose where he wants to go. That has to be the best case scenario for him. For us, its to gain some draft capital. Either way, Jimmy will be playing for someone else.

Salary is only half of the issue. If we keep Jimmy as a back up, how will it affect the locker room?

As long as Trey plays well, it'll be alright, IMO.

No, dude's gotta go. The moment Lance tosses a INT or making a rookie mistake you're gonna have teammates and fans questioning not playing Jimmy.

Lance should be allowed to make those young mistakes without having that s**t breathing down his back...most cases that hurts a young QB not help them.

Jimmy needs to go play football somewhere else...as soon as SF moved up for a QB, he was playing on borrowed time to begin with.

I don't think the team has to worry about that, teammates won't crush a new guy making mistakes if they don't become habitual, and fans are gonna complain anyway. If Trey got hurt, I'd rather see Jimmy in there than Sudfeld. I just don't think Jimmy will take a pay cut. But if Jed don't mind paying him, I don't mind him being here. Would probably help Trey to have a successful veteran in the qb room honestly. I don't think Trey is the kind of guy to have a fragile ego.

he said he doesn't forsee it, he also said a lot of GM speak in the past. so this saving face is inaccurate. Also, the surgery which guaranteed 7.5 threw a monkey wrench in their plans

Saying he's going to cut him now, is much worse than saying that there's a possiblity of keeping him when they really don't want to.

remember Lynch wanted to leave Jimmy in Tenn

I agree it's GM speak and it could all be cr*p, just hoping we don't burn $27M on a backup QB

same... that space could make us a lot stronger in the future
I just want to know why we needed another thread on him. Every single thought in this thread has been covered ad nauseam in the other two Jimmy threads.
$0,000,000

this team is not gonna keep Jimmy G going into the 2022 season.

The incentive would be that no one wants him at anything near what the 49ers would pay in this scenario.

If no one wants him anywhere near backup QB money, then he should have been released months ago.

"Hey Jimmy, we want to keep you but we want your salary to be lowered from $27M to $8M while you backup Trey Lance. You down?"

I still dont see any realistic scenario where Jimmy would approve of a question like that.
