You do realize he wasn't even given the opportunity to do that, right? You don't get to unseat the starter as the scout QB throughout the yr. You don't get to unseat the starter when you're given next to nothing in 1st string reps from day 1 of camp.

Not allowing Lance to an opportunity to compete with Jimmy since day 1 was part of the problem. All that valuable experience he kissed out on because the 9ers decided to roll the dice with Jimmy for yet another year, when all those reps should have gone to Lance Imo.

But various reports show that Trey had really exceeded expectations at first, and then he leveled off. That's not inline with the position that he wasn't even give a chance to compete.

I agree, and that's why I wanted him ( Trey ) to start last season too. Let him take his lumps and grow from It. There was nothing point sticking with an average QB just to play It safe

Redshirted by Kyle because he preferred to stick with an average QB all season? The same QB most are blaming for the NFCCG loss. Jimmy missing all those throws against the Rams Isn't something new..
