Just take that 1on1 outside the hashes every time.

If I'm Trey and see man coverage, I'd audible for Gray to go deep every time!

This is something to watch for this season. Young QBs can be lazy with their reads and take the 1v1 outside instead of reading the concept side on some plays. If Aiyuk shows he can consistently win 1v1s then taking the 1v1 outside the hashes is justified, but he has to show it for it to be a good option.
Sunday can't come fast enough so we can see what's really on Kyle's mind for the offense.

I agree with your post overall. I would like to see Trey grow in that area for sure. But I was speaking more or less on if defenses want to stack the box to stop the run and leave their CB's on an island.

We know Gray has the speed to blow the top off defenses. As far as Aiyuk, he may not be a burner but he has the ability to high point the ball and snatch it out of the air on those contested routes. I seen a number of those in TC highlight videos. Will Trey trust him a little too often on those? Who knows? I guess we will have to wait and see.

I get what you're saying. The 49ers will invite defenses to stack the box by frequently lining up in tight formations. I always thought this made things more difficult for the QB, but it gets the WRs involved in the run game by making them part of the blocking scheme.
I guess what I was referring to when I said "young QBs get lazy" is when the 49ers are in a 3x1, and instead of working the 3 WR side, a young QB will see the 1v1 side and go there whereas working the 3 WR side would have resulted in an easier throw because the route combination of the 3WRs worked to get someone open. (I am using the term "WR" loosely to mean 'route runner')

Yes. I understand what you are saying.
Bump for discussion going on in Jimmy thread
The answer appears to be no.

Would like to see throws outside the hashes and deep to gray, deebo, and ayuik 5-10x a game but it appears that we only get to see those 1-3 times a game and they are destined for the slowest players juice, kittle, and Jennings.

Let's see us get some pass interference calls on deep balls for once.
I was annoyed how much they had Deebo run. I feel like that's a later in the season playoff hunt thing to deploy, but for now I feel like he needs to get it going with Lance catching the ball.

Yeah, at least for this game, other than QB designed runs, it was pretty much the same. Middle, short screens, passes at or behind the LOS, fly sweeps, Deebo as a RB, bigger targets on 3rd downs (Jennings/Dwelley), no designed deep shots, no speed threat, lots of runs inside, heavy lean towards game planning for one player (Deebo) and the rest were barely targeted, WR's for run blocking, a bit of PA, etc.

Very boring game plan and the Bears caught on more and more as the game went on.

Standard Kyle offense no matter who's at the helm.

Let's see what this weekend holds.

What are you looking for to be different when you say it's a boring gameplan? What the 49ers present in the run game is not easy to prepare for defensively. It isn't boring, normal, or typical by NFL standards.
The overthrow to Kroft was a designed deep shot with a TE leak. RayRay was ready to catch a seam pass for a TD if McG didn't give up that sack, Lance was looking for it. In jonndels video at 19:50 when he says "we had RayRay wide open", that was actually Deebo on a deep crosser. So they playcalls in the passing game showed aggressiveness in looking for those plays. Execution (pass pro, overthrow) prevented the playcaller from looking good.

It was a very vanilla game plan indeed. Really hope it's different on Sunday and we see a more dynamic offense.

I think it just looked boring and vanilla because the results weren't there. You can say it was a bad gameplan - trying to hit deep shots with meh pass protection, asking younguns and backups to execute on more snaps than they are comfortable with - if you wanted to say that. They wanted to hit deep plays, and the run game is anything but vanilla. I'm assuming vanilla means bland/boring/uncreative. Otherwise, correct me.

This isn't something most NFL teams do, 'zone read option'. Easy +8
