Time after time our center missed a block, got pushed away or into the ball carrier. He cost the niners numerous big plays in the packer game. I agree with Johnny, this guy should never start a single game again. I recommend everyone find this video o. YouTube and watch today. The games are terrible anyways today

JD's stuff is well worth watching.

They addressed it with Richburg. He was solid and a big part of their success in 2019. Then he got injured and Chris Jones wrecked them in the SB. Then they brought in Alex Mack who was decent but retired shortly after and then it feels like they kind of just stopped trying or Brendel not being completely ass last season deluded them into thinking they were better off than they actually are.

They should address this s**t this off season. If Shany really doesn't want a rookie to run this offense and there is no Decent free agent C (if Dalman doesn't make it to FA), I'm all for trading a pick or 2 to a team that wants to start from scratch that can use draft picks for their rebuild. This can't continue moving forward.

Is there a rookie in this draft capable of starting if Shannahan was willing to go that route?

Not to beat a dead horse but the last draft was the one to do that. I've just started digging into it but the Center position doesn't look very deep at all this year.

I don't see Kyle starting a rookie C anyway. If we upgrade it will probably be via F/A

Not really. They should at least use a pick on a serious developmental prospect that can could maybe contribute at guard to start with. They had plenty of options last year.
Our regimes philosophy is to penny pinch on the o line. That's cool if you can draft and develop but we can't. So far the best draft and develop guys we have are McKivitz then Brendal. Puni looks to be on his way.

Got to penny pinch somewhere
NC was right all along.
Not that it will happen, but I wouldn't doubt that if you gave Puni 3 hours before game time to prepare for the C position, he'd already be up to par with the hot garbage that is BOYING (yes, BOYING, NOT manning) that position right now.

Pure, organic, hot GARBAGE!!
Have we thought of having Feli, if hes healthy next year start at C?

He started taking snaps at C as far back as OTAs

unfortunately, he had plans to retire after 2024

At least he gave it one last ride in Week 8 with that "I'm Ready" post.
Get this guy outta here please

We didn't draft Brendal, he was an undrafted free agent orginally signed by Dallas. We signed him in 2020, after he played for Dallas (PS), Miami, Denver (PS) and Baltimore.
