It's a scary thought that he could actually be the starting center once the season starts.

NC and a few of us others were ridiculed last year for wanting the Niners to draft a C early. Would be nice to have Josh Meyers or Creed Humphrey instead of Aaron Banks.

If we had drafted either of those guys, they would have sat behind Mack last year. So we would still have a new starter at center right now and everyone here would still be freaking out about them not bringing in a veteran center.

Maybe. But I'd still rather have picked one of those top C prospects then reaching 2-3 rounds early for a G that we didn't need.

I still feel like they are being ridiculously stubborn, trying to force Brunskill at center when they could bring in an established veteran like Tretter. They say they're serious about competing for a SB but are nickel and diming one of the must crucial spots on the roster, especially with a very young QB under center.

Brendel is the C. They are playing Brunskill as a rotational cross training type exercise. You know, in case Brendel gets hurt or something.

I don't know about that. Brunskill is getting a lot of snaps with the 1s. I think it is very much an open competition at this point. I might be in the minority but I think the news at C has been a lot better the last few practices for both of them. Obviously for Brunskill to win the job he is going to have to get the snap right. But he had one missed snap today and made really good blocks supposedly. Nothing really to panic over, when there is still so much time for improvement. Would I like a better center? Yes, absolutely but I think there is reason to be optimistic that one of these guys will step it up for us and get the job done.

Obviously G was a need since they weren't going to re-sign Laken for what he got($13M a yr), and not sure how he's a reach, no one truly knows where the player would have gone, the draft is a crapshoot, no one aces it on every pick or draft.

we needed a G more for the future than C last year

if we have gotten a C, people will be crying over a G now and we would really be screwed if Mack stayed

We needed a guard because they had no intention of re-signing Laken because of his price tag. But I do wonder if Banks would have been there in the spot where we took Thomas.

We wanted a G and a C. Just not a guard who was projected to go 2-3 rounds later than he did. But Kyle LOVES to reach for "his guys." He's the literal opposite of guys like Walsh and Bellichick who let the draft come to them, and select value as much as possible.

Belichick just drafted a guard (Cole Strange) about 2-3 rounds higher than he was expected to go.

Hahaha! Literally got laughed at by drunk McVay. Sounds like Kyle leans heavily on foerster for Oline selections I doubt this was "Kyle's guy".

???

2 to Aiyuk and 2 to Deebo = 4
3 of those 4 were in 1 on 1s
Aiyuk was 2 for 2
Deebo was 0 for 2

what doesn't add up?
Maybe Brunskill Is in competition in case he can win the center job that way Burford will be at right guard. However, if Brunskill loses the center competition he might slide back to right guard and we have Burford as a back up. I hope that's not the case but I think that's happening. Kyle likes to start established vets over rookies.

Deebo and Lance have work to do. It's all about that chemistry.
