All the while Mac still completing passes

3-5 yarders won't get things done.

Mac was 14th in the league at 7.3 y/a a whopping .2 y/a from top 8.

In other words, he has a worse career YPA than Nick Mullens.
Was at the practice today. Lance looked very quick when he got out of the pocket. As for his passing…very meh.

But it's only practice. Who knows what these guys are trying to work on in terms of testing certain throws on certain plays vs certain defenses.

One thing is for sure, his footwork needs more work.

He's a first year QB learning the most difficult offensive system ever constructed while going up against a defense that's better than even the 2013 LOB and easily the best this franchise has ever put together. It'd be unrealistic to expect him to not have the occasional minor struggle in his first TC as the starter.

Fields is pretty terrible.

Yeah alot of praise for a QB that had 7 TD's 10 INT's last season. Who had 12 fumbles and lost 5 of them. Who had a passer rating of 73.2

But people give him a pass because it's the Bears.

The bears are bad, so it is some of that. I guess we'll see week 1.

We had a team put all four defensive backs in the pro bowl, and another with Bryant Young, Dana Stubblefield, Deion Sanders, Tim McDonald, Merton Hanks, Richard Dent, Ricky Jackson, Dennis Brown, Ken Norton, Lee Woodall, and Gary Plummer. This defense has potential, but calling it the best the niners have ever fielded is pretty hyperbolic at this point.

My only real concern with Trey is the mid ranged accuracy and him missing high. He needs to get his release point down some, high throws turn into interceptions. Not really panic time, but it is completely natural to be a bit concerned.

Agreed about the defense. That 94 defense was insane. I hear you on Lance just hard for me to be concerned about TC.

Yeah, I remember in '84 how great that D was and completely overlooked by media, etc. Then came out and manhandled the Giants, Bears and Dolphins.

How long have you been a 49ers fan? Five years?

This. People love to argue without context. The spars don't have JC Jackson sooooooo??? Not a good pass rush as well so Max should be doing a lot better.

Maybe Mac's starting LT and RT were out too.

Exactly….context matters

if he keeps sailing balls over wrs heads this season, then the coaching staff needs to tinker with his mechanics
