One thing to note.. we are turning into a WR factory... KS knows the position well. We have developed 2 ones.. JJ developing nicely.. now KS working on Gray

Aiyuk is not a 1 yet. I'm a big fan of his, but I need to see it before I anoint him.

What would it take to determine both Deebo and BA were 1s?

1000 yards receiving/rushing is the minimum bar.

I already consider Deebo a #1.

If Deebo gets 990 yards is he back to being a #2? Or is it where once a WR gets 1000 then he is forever considered a #1?

Both need to put up numbers better than Cooper Kupp had last season.

Those old timey stat milestones need to be calibrated to the games played. When we eventually go to 18 per season with the next CBA it is going to be crazy.

I remember the year Moss went nuts and hit a Rice record and the media rarely mentioned Rice did it in fewer games

It's the eye test. They both pass as #1s in my book. Can you deal with these guys in one on ones? You will get torched all day. Okay that's a one right there.

i don't care about the stats.. just get open when we need you
I thought the 49ers had the best wr/te core in the NFL, just had an underachieving passing game.

I would suspect it will underachive this season as well with the stout defense and young QB, but the talent is there.

Lance wobbles a bit, but I think we can expect flashs of dominance

Yessir.. I wouldn't say it's underachieving. Underutilized is how I would put it. Only one who can shut down our pass game is KS.

I would just chalk it up to being a down year, or maybe he got injured. But if that keeps happening consistently, then you would hope that its not a sign of decline, or maybe he is phoning it in after getting paid.

Yea I would need that Marvin Harrison/Reggie Wayne type feel. That if a D tried to lockdown one of them, the other would thrive. Reggie and Marvin also had stats and numbers. I believe they both went over 1,000 yds a couple of seasons together.

For the record i'm not a stats guy. I just need to see consistent dominance from both. Even if Aiyuk ends with 40 yds on 3 receptions, how did he impact the defense? Did the D purposefully lock him down and Kittle and Deebo then ate their lunch? That's how I determine what a #1 is.

Yeah been hearing that on the local shows as well...it's TC and anyone overacting to guys practicing trying to get better is silly.

Carson Wentz too. Good luck Coach Rivera. Damn he'd rather ride the Carson "I'm on my third team in three years " Wentz experience than our former starter soon to be released.

In other news Justin Tucker's new contract averages up to $6M/yr. You see Paraag going that high for Gould?

Gould is turning 40 this year. Tucker is in a tier all by himself. We gotta find the next Tucker.

The time is coming to replace Gould.

Kickers can easily play up to 50. Age isn't the issue, it's paying them the standard salary increases as they stay longer in the league. Why pay a 45 year-old kicker $4M that is solid on FGs when you can pay a younger one a very small percent of that for just a slight downgrade on accuracy, or maybe no downgrade at all.
