So as I understand it... Most starters won't see much, if any, playing time in Preseason Game 2... but will for Game 3?

I'm just curious... What's the logic behind it? Feels like things have changed since they shortened the Preseason.

I'm assuming that Preseason Games 1 and 2 are for the guys who are fighting to make the team / need reps, and Game 3 is to get players sharpened for Regular Season Week 1?

Think you nailed it.

We need a productive melee to liven up the joint practices.

I doubt BA even plays Saturday

And that the practices vs the Vikings are more valuable than the preseason game.

"It wasn't the greatest performance but..."
Apparently our defense was a little too rough for the Vikes offense and a scuffle almost broke out today.

3 games in 14 days is the main reason
Game #2 is a short week that included travel
Way too early in the season to push their bodies that hard

Usually starters get 1 series then sit so they go through the entire pre game routine etc.

Trey could use extra reps but you dont want him out there without the starting OL...so sit them all and get them longer play in game #3

He's just saying that cause he goes against better competition Vs our defense.

So Trey was 24-37 with 1 INT in these 2 days. Not bad.

Especially given the protection.

Let's not be too tough on them, the Vikes have a reputation for getting after the passer.

Yep, this weekend is to sort out who will be a 2 and who will be cut. The coaches already know 51 of the 53. What they don't know for sure is who they want on the Practice Squad. That is what this game is all about.

i think the vikings still have a mental block against us from the playoff game when we ran the ball time after time and took their man hood away. lol
