How is Dontae Johnson still on this team!?! C'mon, man!

We've been asking ourselves that for the past 10 years now.

he has the best nickname ever because of this

he is the barnacle
Niners cut Gemmel, Schlueter, and Tanner Hudson. Hudson is a shocker to me. Especially after the game he just had.

Being able to play 5 positions at a "below average" level is still valuable (see Brunskill, McKivitz, Q. Knight)

The problem Is, when those guys are having to start because the 9ers didn't do enough In the past to replace them. Hopefully that changes In the near future with all these young OL and CBs that the team has drafted/signed this year and last year.

I think the team likes Charlie Woerner who got off the PUP list a week ago.
No updates at all from practice today? Is it because training camp is pretty much over now? And the practices are different now. It's like how they would practice getting ready for an upcoming opponent and no longer a camp battle. I wonder if they already have a general idea on who is making the 53 and who is not?
Kroft is in front of him, probably another TE still to be cut

It's partially because there's no one doing the live tweeting since fans aren't there.

But here is the update after practice:

Catch the damn ball!!
Jordan Mason actually got to speak at the presser. That's a good sign he is making the team.

This. He's the better run blocker. Tanner is the far better receiver. Guess what we'll be doing this year.
Is it possible we keep keep five RB's and three TE's?

On Offense

2 QB's
5 RB's
5 WR's
3 TE's
9 OL
1 FB

On defense

11 DL
4 LB's
6 CB's
4 S's

1 K
1 P
1 LS

I don't see how they don't keep 5 RB's + Juice. Outside of Trey Sermon who can you possibly cut at RB?

Mitchell-RB1 Lock. Didn't have to prove anything this offseason. He proved it last season.
Wilson JR-Veteran, Talked about how he is having his best offseason. Has proven it at the NFL level
TDP-Just drafted him in the 3rd RD this year. Already have a role for him.
Hasty-Kyle loves him. Having a great training camp and Kyle loves him in the passing game and special teams.
Mason-Probally the Niners best RB this camp and no way he clears waivers.

Then there is Sermon who is really the only RB that has been terrible.

I edited my post after giving it more thought.
