Before this season is over there will be alot of chatter about this @49ers secondary being amongst the best in football. Mark it down. @itslilmooney and @Mannymoseley are a problem! Jimmie Ward has been playing at a ProBowl level for years and look for @TalanoaHufanga to shine

Most notable development through two days of 49ers' camp (pads don't come on until Monday):

Rookie 4th rounder Spencer Burford has taken every single first-team rep at right guard
I like this approach.
This has been, at the very least, surprising. Incumbent starting 49ers RG Daniel Brunskill has practiced only at center so far — both with the first and second teams. Jaylon Moore was the next RG up in OTAs, but he's been needed at tackle to start camp. Burford with the 1s at RG
— David Lombardi (@LombardiHimself) July 28, 2022
I'll circle back to Burford and the guys in the trench when they have pads on.
For sure but I like them working Burford & Moore at RG and splitting Brunskill with Brendel. Gotta see those competitions.
I want to see West get some reps with the 1s too.
No doubt but he and Poe might be a year out. But you never know until you try them out.

My own personal opinion is that our Hall of Fame GM's not been as focused on the DB's as the DLine - simply because he was a DB himself and I just think naturally talented Hall of Fame guys like him think defensive back skills are easy to get, and hence got average athletes at that position. Just my opinion. Glad he's gotten guys like Lenoir, Hufanga, Ambrey on the team now.

I want to see Poe as fullback on goal line situations in pre-season.

I remember back in 2019, it was a rough training camp for the offense against that great defense.
Was that the time that Jimmy threw 5 picks (or something like that) in goal line practice?

I hope our Hall of Fame DLine will *sharpen* up all the rookie, 2nd years and UDFA OLinemen up to snuff.

Haha. They won't keep him active in game days for that esp. after picking up bigger RB's now.
Maybe this pre season though!

Yeah. A Grant Cohn tweet is like a dead fish you find on the shore. You probably shouldn't touch it.

Feels like a slow transition to Brunskill as the 49ers starting center for 2022
