At TE certainly Kittle, but I would pick Brent Jones over Vernon Davis. Also there were short hires that were ignored. So I assume Brown won't be picking Sanders on defense.
  1. At RB I have Frank Gore but that was easy peasy!
HB Roger Craig

Receivers Rice, Owens, Taylor

QB obviously Montana, Young

You'd take Craig over Gore? That's a tough one for me.

I know Aldon fell apart, but he was so good for the first 2 seasons. I'd have him over Norton Jr
i'll stick with the roster i had the last time someone made a thread like this lol

I'd go with Justin Smith or Buckner over Stubblefield and George Kittle over bunny hop Davis and Warner is already better than Ken Norton as an off ball LBer.

I also have a slight preference/bias to going with homegrown Niners over traded players (with exception of Justin Smith I'd say), hence Warner over Kenneth Norton Junior.

Ray Wersching, haha. He's not a homegrown Niner technically, so no issue going with Akers or Gould or Nedney.......

Ray scored more pts than any 49er other than Rice is my case for inclusion

Sure, because he got a ton of cheap shot extra points and FGs with the Montana led offenses, but when you need a 55+ FG I wouldn't rely on Wersching over Akers or Gould, or even Nedney or Dawson.

Kicking no doubt has improved dramatically. I don't think it's fair to compare a yesteryear kicker to today's kicker. I compare to their own era. Ray was a 2x SB Champ. Led the NFL in scoring in 84. And was a 2nd team all-pro. 12th player ever to get to 1000 pts.

I agree with you Gould, Akers, Nedney can kick it better.
Y'all really debating a kicker
