6m a year for two years is a boatload for a guy who is at least top 5 at his position? It's close to what Orem Burks and Odum got combined. And they're both backups.

Definitely not Verrett. That would be a waste of his talent Imo. It's most likely to be Mosely, assuming everyone Is Healthy

We were discussing this same topic in the secondary thread. Moseley would be the better option.

Verrett played slot on the Chargers Im pretty sure. They only moved him to outside corner once he got here. His hip/footwork works extremely well against slot receivers who are shifty.

OTOH, I always felt like Moseley is much better as outside corner but is not good at quick direction changing routes slot WRs tend to run.

I think the played both as a rookie than the Chargers moved him mainly to being on the outside.

Verrett with the chargers just shadowed the #1 receiver.

Definitely one of the better camp battles along with interior OL.
I thought Lenoir would get a shot

This messes me up so much. From a skill set side, Verrett has all the quick-twitch, lateral and explosive skills to be a top SCB in today's game. But with his knees, that's the last thing I'd want him to do. And for Moseley, one of the most challenging things is perfecting your timing and craft outside only to move inside in-game and use a totally different skill set in the slot and keep moving back and forth.

My guess is Dennard just continues to keep the job and they slowly work Verrett in on some nickel. Womack backs up Dennard.

The best nickel corner is more physical than quick twitch and lateral

You think? One of the advantages of a WR in the slot is motion and being off the LOS and running across the traffic where defenders can pick each other off. Maybe in tight sets where a SCB can move up in press?

I will say Crocker does like Moseley in the slot.

Depends what kinda coverages we will be running. If you have a crosser against man and your pass rush doesn't get home then that's an auto win don't care who's in the slot.

Trun. I'm very curious how this will play out.
It's gonna be Moony-Eman outside and Verrett @ Nickel (if he's back to capacity after the rehab)
