Jordan Mason-RB-Georgia Tech-UDFA

Got a feeling Mason isn't going to be on the team. We know shanahan loves hasty & Wilson and I highly doubt they get rid of Sermon…TDP definately ain't going anywheee. Mason will go to PS and get picked up by someone for sure.

It wouldn't surprise me if both Sermon and Mason end up in Miami and/or NYJ.

Same. Ga tech is my college team so of course I got some extra skin in the game but I do think his style is a perfect fit for this running scheme. He's decisive and hits his hole. Very little to no dancing. I have a feeling Kyle will try and get him on the practice squad.

no they will not..... .. sermon stays because they.. whatever is above love ..... lynch and kyle are running around trying to build up sermon. better hope mitchell and wilson stay healthy

Yeah, it's almost an hour past 1, and it does look like he made it. I was really bummed when they let Hasty go, but now I realize that they let Hasty go to keep Mason, I'm more than Jazzed! Totally stoked for the season to begin. Also, jazzed, that my judgment was verified by ShanaLynch choosing to keep Mason. As for Sermon, I dunno why they kept him but I think they did. Maybe they see something in him that I don't see - for sure.

I'm sure they do.

I know one could say as an Ohio State fan that I've been all over the map with Sermon, well maybe not that extreme. But I've gone from believing in him to agreeing he needs to do better.

But the bottom line, it would seem, is that people convinced themselves that Mason was battling a guy like Sermon for a roster spot when the bottom line is he was probably always battling a guy like Hasty for a roster spot.

People probably put too much stock in preseason anyway. It's like again to make a comparison, a guy who hasn't gotten any higher than AA or is a non roster invite wowing people because he hits .380 with 7 home runs against guys who will struggle to get minor league hitters out the remainder of the season. Not to say that's a direct comparison to what Mason did but it kind of is.

Keep in mind Sermon has been praised by Lynch, by Shanahan, by Jeff Wilson Jr. before the games. For some guys who know they have a roster spot, preseason is just about getting some work in and not getting hurt. Since Sermon did sustain an ankle injury as well, that may account for some of his issues as well.

There are some idiotic and bad coaching staffs but as a whole it's probably better to think they know better than we do. They see a guy in practice and behind the scenes. We see him for a few plays in a mostly meaningless game and think he should be cut if he doesn't perform well.

He has talent. If he didn't he wouldn't have set a single game record for rushing yards at Ohio State or been drafted. So let's hope he stays healthy and shows some of it.
