Tevin Coleman just got signed to the niners
Mason will get his chance just give it some time.
smart coaches with great rosters tend to slow play rookies
He's an undrafted fa for frocks sake
I've got mason in almost every leage as a bench RB. I picked him up last week because I thought he would get the nod over TDP. Now that Mack is active, I hightly doubt mason will get the bullk of those RB2 carries but I think he will get a chance. Hopefully he can' break a couple loose and earn some more snaps.

Side Note. I really wish he would have stuck with the #41 instead of 24. He's wear's it kind of like Kamara, so I liked that similarity.

I say go for it. I drafted Mason in the last round simply based on our RB/UDFA history.

High ankle sprains can be bad, I'm wondering if we bring up a Mack and sign familiar face to the PS this week.

Called it

This kid better get snaps over Mack and Coleman.

It's sad that it took a Sanu injury last year for Kyle to pull his head out of his ass and give Jennings more playing time.

I don't know. I wouldn't mind seeing if a former 1,000 yard rusher (Mack) has something to give. He may not have much.

That's just a commonality with almost all coaches probably at all levels. Probably with every college team fans gripe about why a so-so upperclassman is starting over a highly regarded/recruited younger player.

He somehow looks faster and more decisive than both our 3rd round RBs.

I think Sermon is gonna get cut. Sad for a 2nd year 3rd round pick.

Which is so mind boggling that we drafted that position so high. No more RBs until day 3 of the draft from now on. With so much success we've had with late picks and UDFA you would think this regime would be smarter than that.

Older post but I'm hoping we add one Breida type of back late next year. Mitchell, TDP, Mason, and Breida 2.0 looks good on paper.
The undrafted/late round RBs Kyle picks up always end up being better than the guys he drafts high.

They do, but they can't take the punishment

Yup. I want to pick up another back with elite speed and we have the capital to do so, but using another day 2 on a back, eh. The good news is there are multiple guys that would be in front of this player so there's that. We'll see how it plays out.
His time is coming!

I'd love to see Wilson continue to pound it inside and Mason, outside. Wear that defense out in that mile high climate.

I like it,
This kid playing tomorrow?

HYPE until he shows otherwise.

Tbf, None of our RB's can take the punishment regardless of where they're drafted.

I think we have an entire RB hospital ward in Santa Clara.
