No. Mitchell is the #1 and should be. Mason is pretty similar to Jeff Wilson imo.

Yeah, but Mitchell is not 100% right now. Mason should get starting reps along with Mitchell, IMO.
Deebo is our best back

Mason looks WAY better then Sermon and better then TDP right now. If you remove their draft status' the RB room should look like this based off preseason thus far:
1) Mitchell
2) Wilson Jr.
3) Mason / Hasty
4) TDP
5) Sermon
For the record, I think Hasty is your classic preseason over achiever and is the perfect RB to keep on the practice squad. Can be a decent RB if needed during the season but otherwise has reached his ceiling.

Mason is running against future sales reps. Mitchell just ran for the most rushing yards in 49er history.

Agreed, didnt Coffee, Sheets and Dixon also look amazing in preseason. But I do like Mason. Mitchel, TDP, Warner and Mason... seems like a decent group. Dont know if Sermon qualifies for the PS but if they can throw him on there for another year maybe he can pull a Mostert a learn to run in his 3rd year lol.
Mason looking good is not new. He's been good since OTAs, through TC and now in pre-season games. I think he deserves a spot on the 53.

He meant rookie rushing yards

Remains to be seen if this kid is good enough to produce vs NFL starters and to be kept on the 53, Kyle would know.

if this is a issue. i would rather take a chance on this kid than sermon who we are seeing what he does not have... the o line was not good for sermon but hasty and mason had the same line or worse. they control what they can control. sermon acts scared

Again they're facing 2nd 3rd stringers, Hasty is who he is, a limited 3rd down back who hasn't produced much vs NFL starters.

Mason does flash talent, who knows he might be the next Marshawn lynch with that running style but don't know unless he is on the 53 and 3 other RBs ahead of him is injured lol that's a long as way to getting any real touches.

Agree. Sermon shouldn't make the 53, in my opinion. Mitchell, Mason, TDP, Wilson and Hasty would be my RB lineup.

I agree, but not Hasty.

I don't know if they'll keep 5 RB's on the 53. Depending on how severe Mitchell's injury is and whatever is going on with Wilson. Sermon, I believe, should certainly be cut. So it will probably come down to Mason or Hasty. If Mason is better than Hasty at catching and pass pro and Mason will "certainly" be picked up on the waiver wire by another team if cut. Why did they not put Mason in those passing situations at the end of the GB and MIN games and opted instead to put Hasty back in?

Hasty is a good 3rd down speed back for the outside zone in my opinion. Very similar to Elijah. I like all the 5 backs i named above, but you are right - they might not be able to keep all 5 RBs on the team.

It may come down to the fact that running pass routes would be a bit too much for a raw player like him at this stage. He has his plate full just learning the plays and figuring out blitz protections.

I agree, i dont think they keep 5 RB's- Wilson, Hasty, or Mason might be the odd man out. I wish we could keep all three in additon to TDP and Elijah though.

I love Mason's down hill run mentality. I think he has shown the best in that area thus far. This will certainly be a tough decision for the coaching staff.
