What more does Mason have to do to get more touches? He showed in preseason that he's worked on his route running and looks solid now.

He had a nice catch early in the game yesterday. We need to use him and Mitchell more, if just to preserve CMC.

I don't believe Mitchell is the same. He didn't have a full offseason and his numerous injuries seem to be piling up.
I'm sure he could break off some long runs, but IMO Mason would be much more efficient with his touches. He always gains yards, similar to Frank Gore.
I could be wrong, but I think Mason is much more than a rotational guy, I think he's a soon to be star that we are vastly underestimating.

Jordan Mason should be the backup RB.

We haven't really seen Elijah since the 2021 season. I guess that makes Mason the better option.

I'm done babysitting potential. We did that before hoping they heal and contribute, but it felt like we were a Niner health spa and rehab center. Let's get these durable young talents acclimated to game speed, so they will be ready to contribute deep in the season.

I like Mason better because hes a bigger and tougher back than Elijah for the change up when they rest CMC. He has shown that he can close out a game as well.

I like Elijah because he's a good back (when healthy) and he'll be on his rookie contract for another two years. I also like Mason, and think he's just a much bigger Elijah and more durable. Both guys, have the ability to spell CMC when needed and still keep the offense humming. CMC is a future hall of famer - if he can stay healthy. Elijah and Mason will be key in preserving CMC for the Playoffs.

Weird, because when it came to Q4 in a very important game in playoffs against Dallas last year, Mitchell was the one who was getting carries. He got more carries than CMC, for that matter. I also remember him scoring a TD against Seattle in the same playoffs.
With RBs, it's very simple with Kyle....he either trusts you or he doesn't. Right now it's pretty clear that the only two backs on the team he trusts are CMC and Mitchell (Deebo too but hes a WR)
Mason is playing only out of necessity, on less-than-important downs or cleanup duty in garbage time. Kyle won't trust a guy who is fumble prone.

Mason fumbled once in the preseason and now he's "fumble prone"?

Hes been fumbling a lot in camp. Also I think Kyle trusts Mitchell way more in pass pro, and we all have seen how bad TDP is in pass pro too lol.
Once again, Kyle has shown he trusts Mitchell in big spots and big games; Mason not so much. I mean, what would you attribute that to ? His stubbornness ?

Source? You mean this article?
I suppose you could be right. He hasn't coughed it up during any regular season games, has he?
If there is any back that could absolutely flatten a gamer like Micah Parsons and leave his cleat marks on the man, it's Jordan Mason. That dude hits like a Sherman Tank.

Man it would be great to see Mason get more snaps. Hopefully he can break loose soon.
