He somehow looks faster and more decisive than both our 3rd round RBs.

I think Sermon is gonna get cut. Sad for a 2nd year 3rd round pick.

Which is so mind boggling that we drafted that position so high. No more RBs until day 3 of the draft from now on. With so much success we've had with late picks and UDFA you would think this regime would be smarter than that.

My pet conspiracy theory is that Anthony Lynn was campaigning for TDP. Then again, Trey Sermon was drafted last year and Anthony Lynn wasn't here yet.

Their reaches have fallen from rounds 1 and 2 (Thomas, Pettis) to round 3. Better than 2017 but not quite where we need to be in terms to risky picks.

To be fair, the draft is hit and Miss. Even Walsh picked some busts. The saving grace is that they still manage to land some gems in the late rounds and in the undrafted group. Thats good enough for me.

Having said that, in hindsight, I'd have loved the Pettis and Solomon picks back for a redraft, for sure.

I'm not knocking them and I'd be willing to bet their drafts easily would rank top 10. If Trey pans out, they leapfrog to top 5.

Nah. That's most likely to be Hasty or Sermon.

Mason looking good is not new. He's been good since OTAs, through TC and now in pre-season games. I think he deserves a spot on the 53.

Agree. Sermon shouldn't make the 53, in my opinion. Mitchell, Mason, TDP, Wilson and Hasty would be my RB lineup.

I don't know if they'll keep 5 RB's on the 53. Depending on how severe Mitchell's injury is and whatever is going on with Wilson. Sermon, I believe, should certainly be cut. So it will probably come down to Mason or Hasty. If Mason is better than Hasty at catching and pass pro and Mason will "certainly" but picked up on the waiver wire by another team if cut. Why did they not put Mason in those passing situations at the end of the GB and MIN games and opted instead to put Hasty back in?

It may come down to the fact that running pass routes would be a bit too much for a raw player like him at this stage. He has his plate full just learning the plays and figuring out blitz protections.

I agree, i dont think they keep 5 RB's- Wilson, Hasty, or Mason might be the odd man out. I wish we could keep all three in additon to TDP and Elijah though.

I think Wilson is in. Mitchell, Wilson, TDP, and Mason as others have said. Hasty is no threat to be picked up so he goes go to the PS.

in the past that was a concern but Seattle is bottom 5 team this year they have almost no talent and the QB situation is awful

Seattle has a decent amount of talent on both sides of the ball IMO. The problem is… their QB situation is awful. No way they win more than 6 games.

It's gonna be fun seeing the Seahawks struggle this year. I just hope they don't get lucky and find themselves another great QB In next years draft.
Can someone please explain why good players have to prove themselves to the league when it's the scouts who have got it wrong?

Why? I'm playing devil's advocate here bc it seems like we are all saying Wilson is in (myself included). He has been injury prone. He is older than the other backs. He doesn't offer anything unique that the other backs don't bring - aside from maybe our best pass catcher out of the backfield. But if he isn't available, that isn't really helpful to the team now is it? I think we are all giving him a free pass since he is a veteran presence. Maybe that is justified and enough. But we know Hasty brings something different as a change of pace back AND can return kicks. And Mason is a beast. Just laying out a different perspective.
Loving the look of this kid. Much preferred to TDP and Sermon for me. I think he's probably a PS stash for now (I'm predicting some mysterious IR designations soon), but wouldn't surprise me to see him earning some carries in season.

It's not a great sign if he's getting carries in the 4th quarter. With a crowded RB room I just can't see Mason making the 53 man cut. To me the 4 RBs will be Mitchell, Hasty, Wilson and TDP. Then Juice as the FB.

Not saying that's what I'd pick - just predicting what they will do.

Exactly what I believe they will do also. I think they would like to get Mason on the PS. The guy has shown one good trait on film and has only taken snaps on runs late in the 4th qtr so far. Folks have said reports came out that he has had good hands in OTA's and TC, I think, but it hasn't shown up on film as of yet. He also hasn't been asked to pp either. If that is not a sign that they are intentionally not putting much on tape than they just don't trust him in those situations. If folks don't believe that pp and blitz pickup isn't important to an offense at the RB position than I don't know what to tell them.
