Shout out to Gipson. I thought he might be a weak spot in this defense as he enters the season as a 33 year old DB. He is being asked to do a lot in Wilk's scheme with regards to man coverage as Huf seems to be the preferred single high safety.
Yea he's manning up on all these blitzes and doing a good job so far.

Dudes been an incredible moneyball find. Well done FO!

Great fit for what we do
WE need him to perform the way he performed last year... but again, even Huff is having less action and I think it's because of our new DC and the way they are being USED..

Been fantastic last season and so far this year. Most underrated on our defense
Big ups for keeping him around. I thought Brown would steal some playing time from Gipson, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case. Did anyone else notice Gip come down and play the slot with Odum taking the other safety spot opposite of Huf? It was only a handful of plays that I noticed this, but it seemed to work out just fine.
Love this guy. Incredible bargain. Best hands on the team. Talk about locker room cred. See charvy soaking up every word? Like he's listening to Moses. Bosa should toss a couple mil his way.

Nobody has posted in this thread for 10 days? Got to give this guy some love best bargain on the team. Feel like hes always there for us at the right moments. A tackler, A+ hands. What a find.

I don't want Jimmie Ward to get mad at me for praising his replacement in a podcast.
I went to thinking a year ago he was signed to be a back up at worst a camp body but damn he's been the unsung hero on d. The guy who doesn't get talked at all alongside the great players we have on d already
Definitely a huge reason why the defense isn't giving up many splash plays. He's one of those guys who isn't racking up the stats, but you know the impact he's having because passes aren't coming his way much.

I hope Ji'ayir. Brown is taking notes on how to be a professional. I think he's got the skills to take our safety room to another level like Hufanga did.
