SF 49ERS at Bears Pregame Thread - 2022 Season Week 1

Some of you are really freaking out after a meaningless preseason game. Niners are a top 5 team and the Bears are a bottom 5 team

Niners 27
Bears 6

N'Keal Harry, duh!

Oh, he's hurt...
Probably the one of best winnable games of the season for the Niners...but ...the Bears gonna have a different idea. I expect a lot of mistakes by both teams. Niners 20-13

That could be a positive for the Bears. Either way, no way we should lose this game. Better talent, our players largely have been in the system longer, coaching, play calling, etc. I just hope we get on top of them and don't let up. That would be a step in the right direction for this team in terms of maintaining a lead.

24-16 9ers.

I feel the OL will keep this a close one.

I just hope Lance lives to play another day.
With Trent Williams back in the lineup I think the OL will exponentially better than it was in the preseason. I think we win by at least 14.
The Bears have one of the worst rosters in the league. They Drafted Fields 2 years ago and failed to give him any real weapons. The Bears have done a horrible job getting skill players for the last 50 years or more. They concentrate on defense and haven't noticed that the league has become an offensive league. They haven't had a star QB or really big time receiver since the fifties.

Colin Cowherd had a good line about the bears. He called them a black and white TV in a digital world.

Yeah, but if we go into the game like an AM radio

I'd say Kyle's offense is very up to date. My only problem with these early games is the limited action starters have seen. I understand that they are trying to protect the players from injury but are they really doing that? Ward got hurt on the last play of practice. I don't think any of our injured players were hurt in a game. Seems like they're all getting hurt in practice. I guess that's the next step is to stop practicing.

Football is a contact sport and just like boxing or MMA they need to get used to absorbing punishment. They can be in good cardio condition and still not be ready for that big hit. We have yet to play our starting O line as unit. I don't think all the LBs have been in there at the same time either. The league has imposed more and more rules in the name of safety and still players get hurt. You can't even breath on a QB anymore but they still get hurt. Can't touch WRs but they still get hurt. They cut down the number of pre season games and limited practices and they still get hurt.
My prediction is 27-9 49ers win
Lance- 210 pass yards 40 rush yards 2 total TD 1int
Rushing total 200 yards
TDs- Deebo (1-rushing), Aiyuk (1), Lance (1-rushing)
Receiving leader - Kittle

Defense
Sacks- 7 (Bosa 3, Armstead, Kinlaw, Omenihu, Womack).. 2 takeaways (Omenihu, C. Ward)

FG- Gould 2-2 (24, 48)
Week 1 games are so freaking weird. Nothing would surprise me!

While we typically struggle against mobile QB's, we should still win this one even if the offense is a little clunky along the way.

This, it might be a September of defense and special teams
Week 1s are always weird, but should start 1-0
