Could be gamesmanship.. keep the Bears guessing.. then again if he's healthy.. he doesn't really need to practice he's that good.. I hope he sits if it's at all an issue.. don't want to aggravate and lose a season or something.. just to give him limited action here anyway...

Just hold him out til he's 100% at this point

we really don't need him for this game

Im not too sure about that. Too many times where this offense had looked lost without him, even against mediocre opponents

Dont need him. Bench him till week 3.
Yeah I am not even playing Kittle if he says he is ready to go. Groin injuries are tricky and need to make sure he is fully healthy. It's the Bears and yes any given Sunday any team can win but seasons aren't won and lost in week 1.
Give Kittle an extra week. We don't need him to win this game. Deebo gonna smash this Sunday.
Let's go 49ers!

They will prepare as Kittle is playing. Nobody needs to gameplan for there back up tight end. It's not like there game plan will drastically change without kittle

Kittle is an All Pro TE and presents a big challenge in terms of how you want to cover downfield. Big difference in terms of if he is out there or not.

Thus why you prepare as if he's going to play. And if he doesn't then you just change coverages accordingly. Just like if he got hurt in the middle of the game then they make adjustments and change accordingly.

I think the NFL has some fairly strict rules about status reporting being an accurate reflection of reality. It may have something to do with the gambling industry.
