SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at CHICAGO BEARS - 2022 Game 1

The Trey Squad has been rooting against this team for the sake of replacing Jimmy for a few years now, so the anti-Trey response is going to be amplified to match the absurdity.

Fact is, the majority of fans don't get it, one way or another, and are told what to think by media talking heads and Twitter takes that fit 140 characters.

Jimmy wasn't the problem before, and the fanbase is gonna learn that real fast with games like today where the offense is completely stagnant and inefficient. They'll blame things like the o-line, not realizing that the o-line has been a problem and the obsession at scapegoating Jimmy has meant that the o-line has gone overlooked and assets that coulda be used to address it are now gone in the Trey Lance investment.

Trey Lance wasn't the problem today. He didn't contribute positively, but there were bigger issues today like defensive penalties, Kyle's gameplan, and the weather. To me, today is not indicative of what to expect of Trey going forward. It didn't make me feel positive going forward, but there was also too much at play for this one single game to be the defining moment of Trey's career. Fans suggesting as such are just being absurd.

Next week will be our first genuine look at Trey Lance. If you're judging Trey off of today, you're just as bad as those who have been obsessed with replacing Jimmy to the detriment of the entire team.

Don't play with your food. KC doesn't play with their food. Buffalo doesn't play with their food. We didn't play with our food most of the way through 2019 up until the SB.

Luckily its only game 1. Besides cleaning up dumbass penalties I'm looking for us to develop and keep a damn killer instinct. We're not winning anybody's SB till we get one.

The hilarious thing is that the some of the exact same people that were ranting for Kyle to get fired after the first few games last season, and then the team ended up going to the NFC Championship game, are back in here after this game, still peddling the same thing.

Its Week 1, every year some teams stumble out of the gates, some teams come exploding out and then play like crap the rest of the season(see the 2015 and 2016 49ers if you need an example on that). They made a lot of mistakes, they beat themselves far more than the Bears beat them, as long as they clean all the crap up, they'll be fine.

If they're playing like this a month from now, then its going to be worth worrying over.

While what you are saying is reasonable, this team just got their asses handed to them by a real s**tty team
We all have high hopes for this team, and it would be unnatural for most fans to come in here and accept this loss. This is true with all fan bases.

If they come out next week and beat the Seahawks, things will be better. But if they lose, expect more pissed off fans posting.

Explain wtf the Bears did that handed us an ass whopping like you said?

I saw no such thing. Bears made two plays the entire game. Everything else was the 9ers beating themselves.

This was like the Seahawks game last year. Lost to a completely inferior opponent because they couldn't get out their own way.

What game were you watching?
This team also snuck into the playoffs last year and just got hot at the right time. This team is a bit overrated on this board obviously because we are fans of the team. It's far from a lock to make the playoffs. 9-8 10-7 is the most likely outcome I had before the season. That hasn't changed.

I think Jose watches 49ers games on a fax machine.

What exactly do you expect them to give Trey without a starting TE, an OLine that's still gelling, an injured RB and soaking wet footballs? Deep nine routes? It was a team effort and team loss- nothing more and nothing less.
The niners played slightly better than the webzone servers today. That ain't saying much for either one. Just for the record I will call for Mr. irrelevant way before I would be ok seeing Mr. nobody wants me. In Trey I trust. Three starts in and he has more to offer than clipboard cowboy ever did. Don't even spout his win loss record. We won those by overcoming his shortcomings. Trey will silence the haters if given time to gain the experience he needs to improve. Just remember this. Clipboard Jimmy misses at least one wide open receiver per game. He throws at least one int at the wrong time and almost throws three more. He is not your savior. He is a false profit.

A classic shot ourselves in the foot kind of game. If it weren't for turnovers and penalties we should have won. We out played them in all other categories. I have confidence that we will bounce back.

100% this. Saw this in real time.

1000% agree!

Let's not all jump the gun on Lance. He looked like he hasn't played in a year or two but the weather did no favors.

Lance has not played allot even since drafted. Field played all last year and didn't look a whole lot better. Let's give Lance a chance here.

They got lucky last year because the Wideback Deebo thing caught defenses off guard. Now, its everywhere on tape. This gimmick crap isn't going to be enough for a playoff push. Kyle will need to come up with something else.

It's just Jose being Jose. Probably didn't even watch the game and going off of angry posts.
