SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at CHICAGO BEARS - 2022 Game 1

It's ok the West is bad
Hope this loss doesn't come back to bite us in the ass later.
We're fine guys. Prescott is out 6-8 weeks and Brady lost his left tackle and Godwin and…….. he looked old. Rodgers has nothing to throw to. It's literally us and the Rams😆😆😆. Kyle literally won't be able to scheme us out of the playoffs

Dude relax. Week 1 in what have been the worst weather I've ever seen. You'll never convince me those officials didn't have the Bears plus spread.

Why? Because the 49ers were undisciplined? Every single 49er penalty was legit. The fact that you're whining about penalties after losing to the supposed worst team in the NFL says it all.

Not all were legit but for a game to be that lopsided in calls in that weather is ridiculous.

Lance had a wide open TE and couldn't convert while Fields did when he had the opportunity. I am not saying Fields is better than Lance but Fields had a better game. Fields might even be better overall this year because he has more experience and is a better athlete. Lance played in the same condition as the Bears, with a much better team, with top tier WRs and RBs. Still missed easy passes and threw a terrible interception. I do expect that he improves as the season goes on though. His mechanics and his throwing motion is just… ugly. This should also improve overtime though and hope he learns quickly.

Kroft was open in a window. Pettis was standing like a country mile away from any other player. It was pure pitch and catch.

I totally disagree that Fields had a better game. He was total garbage for most of the game. The 49ers secondary blew several coverages, and the team as a whole couldn't stop committing penalties. We handed them the game on a silver platter.

For how bad the OL was Lance actually made plays to get them off the hook.

As for the mechanics, his mechanics are fine. They did a feature on why people think his mechanics suck, and it has to do with a ball hitch right before he throws. It doesn't affect the throw or release time at all, but it makes his release look weird, so people think he's not doing it right. Holding the ball out vertically with two hands, he points it forward horizontally before he winds up. My guess is its a timing mechanism.

Fields has much more touch and is more accurate. I believe Lance had maybe 4 or 5 good throws in the entire game.

The overreactions in here have been very entertaining.

You can't blame them. Losses are never easy, but when you were a 7 point favorite to win by a majority in NFL land, it's going get talked about.

Nope. Don't blame them. Keep it coming. Its very entertaining.

It's different when you lose to a contender, but to lose to a bottom feeder is cause for concern

100% OPI... He stiff armed the defender at the top of the route, creating just enough space for the catch. That's just one anyways, there were 11 others. Surely you can name several more?

Thank you. I couldn't hear but was Greenlaw first personal foul legit? Seemed he went over Fields. Those Bears toss sweeps had a ton of holds. Nothing called. Secondly it was raining so obviously game doesn't count.

The OPI on Aiyuk was pretty lame. I guess by the letter of the law that's OPI, but if you are calling that... then you are calling OPI on damn near every play. I don't think what he did created any seperation that wasn't already there to be honest.

Outside of that...the other penalties were all legit. The unnecessary roughness stuff is just stuff the league is going to call no matter what when a QB slides. It sucks, but it is what it is.

The face mask by Greenlaw killed everything. He is a walking penalty.
