SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at CHICAGO BEARS - 2022 Game 1

The turning points for me.. the Deebo fumble, the missed TD to Kroft, the dropped int and penalty that kept their TD drive alive.. that's about a 17-21 point swing on 3-4 plays

When you put yourself in a position where it is up to the refs to make a 50/50 call, you need to look in the mirror.

I've always felt this way.

Is that right? Ouch.

I'm willing to give him more than 2 weeks to be great but that's just me.

I said this yesterday and still believe it. If either the Deebo fumble doesnt happen or Lance can hit on that pass to Kroft, the 49ers open up an insurmountable lead in the first half, and the comeback wouldnt have happened. The comeback was a perfect storm of crap and/or undisciplined play. Niners are up 17+ to 0, the comeback never happens.

"A nice, largely penalty-free victory, with contributions from everyone."

Yeah because it rhymes with 9ers. Literally only reason.

Every fan base complains.

those hurt, but it was definitely the facemask penalty, dropped pick, and then busted coverage TD to pettis

Commentators kept mentioning over and over how we were dominating the game early.. but it wasn't reflected the one place it matters.. the scoreboard..

If we gave KS a 10 point lead instead of a 3 point lead in the 4th.. there is zero chance KS would have blown a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter

you can overcome not connecting on a pass here and there. you can't win a game with that many penalties, especially with a qb whos essentially a rookie

The last 6 points were the result of the Niners getting a penalty on 2nd and 11 for an automatic 1st down (and goal).
