I was 14 years old. That was our Super Bowl year. Last time we won one. Damn that's sad…

It's a great moment in club history that's DPOY Prime right there. Add some smiles to your posts

Nothing sad about the 49ers!

Bosa should rest this week. Don't take any chance with that injury. Heal him up.

It wasn't even an injury. He felt tightness and they pulled him just to be cautious.

That's one of the differences in today's game vs the older NFL. Players came out when they were actually hurt and couldn't play. Now they come out because of tightness as a precaution. They feel a twinge and they go to the sidelines.

I am going to assume Bosa and every other professional athlete knows their body best and he knew something was up.

That's probably true but that's not my point.Players fear getting hurt more now than they used to. Maybe it's because there is so much money involved. It's also harder to cut a player now because of the rules so they don't fear that quite as much. There's a difference between a little tightness and a mild pull or strain. Players used to play with broken arms and even broken legs (Jack Youngblood).

It's a different game now.
don't forget kids used to hike ten miles over a tall hill in the snow to go to school and back

For awhile there I thought he, Telvin Smith and Fred Warner were going to be the new breed of LBs in the NFL. Smith has his own problems, but what happened to Deion Jones? Just fell off I guess.

I would personally prefer Bosa to be proactive in protecting himself in a game we frankly didn't need him in, than getting hurt unnecessarily. It might not always align, but in this case his best interests are the team's best interests--him being healthy and able to play for the long haul. It should go without saying his availability late in the season and especially in the playoffs (knock on wood) is of the utmost importance.

I'm not just talking about Bosa. He may have been smart to take himself out rather than risk injury. I'm talking about players in general. Serious injuries are one thing but we seem to have a lot of these tightness or stiffness types or things that keep a player out for a game or two. I'm talking about the league in general not just the Niners.

It definitely is different, and we'll probably continue to see it (see it more?) as players negotiate themselves a little more control, financially... I don't know if it will ever reach NBA "load management" levels but that's the way its trending.

I don't see any way to turn the clock back on that. I do think there may be some other ways the league can react to it--expanding the 53 man roster, for instance. (The expanded practice squad and ability to activate players from it is an intermediate step to this, as I see it). Giving coaches more players to pick from might mitigate the impact to availability that this new culture will probably lead to...

Anyone got Jimmy G dome stats? He sure tore it up against the saints a few years ago, and yes this is a layup. I actually don't know if there new stadium is considered a dome

Good post moon.. I too like our odds this week. This D really has been special and I've had a great time watching them do their thing.
We gave up 54 yards rushing to CMC without Kinlaw or AA. Just need to improve upon the pass rush or hold serve and the "other CB" should be fine.
Falcons are 5-0 ATS.

So we should expect a close game.
Watched a few of their games and ATL has played well this season. Couple with that they seem to always give the niners fits lately when everyone thought it was not going to be close and on the road, injuries etc , this is going to be tough.

I've watched them too. They've mostly played mediocre/bad competition. They were getting killed by the Rams and Tampa before making futile comebacks, and their 2 wins came against the Seacocks and Browns in close games, neither team is very good either . Make no mistake, the Falcons are probably in the same category as the Panthers.

They are better than the Panthers. I think the 49ers will focused since they are all lodging together. Need to be all business going in to this one.
