CMC is a lot more talented than Watters

That says a lot, because Ricky Watters was an excellent RB, and one of my favorite Niners of all time!

You would know Tom!

CMC is NOT more talented than Watters..

Watters can play the WR position ... Watters can be a BELL COW.. Watters can return punt and kick-offs.

CMC is very talented, but he's NOT more talented than Watters.. you can compare him to the old D.Meggett or E. Metcalf..

youre wrong and i doubt youre old enough to have been an adult watching Watters play for the Niners in the early 90s. i am.

and yes CMC can also return kicks if he had to. look at his college career.
CMC can do just about everything on the field. Run, catch passes, return punts if needed. He's also a very good blocker. There are concerns about injuries based on his history but like Kyle said you can't worry about that. Injuries can happen to anyone regardless of their history. So far, all his injuries have been similar to the types of things Kittle gets. Nothing really major but they keep him sideline 2 or 3 games here and there. He's never missed an entire season with a broken bone or torn ligaments. I imagine Kyle will be rotating him with Mitchell so that can help take some stress off his body.

The first ever football game I saw was THE CATCH (LIVE).. . so do the simple match.. I was there during the 80s 90s and the sorry 2K for this team..

as talented as CMC is now, I just don't think he is MORE talented than Ricky Watters.. how many times had CMC gone over 1000 yards rushing?

Nah. Just look at what Waters did after leaving. Dude was perfect in that system, but CMC would be great in any system. Just happens that this particular one will maximize his talents. More reminiscent of Faulk than Waters.

I am not arguing your second point as I agree with you. The draft is a crap shoot and we now have a proven commodity.

I just think that Banks has been getting an unfair shake just because he sat his rookie season. He has actually played well, especially as a pass protector.

It is a that Tomlinson has played so poorly this season after playing very well in 2020 and 21. Banks had a relatively bad day against Atlanta but was ^^^ prior to that. The Chiefs and Chris Jones will be a huge test for Banks and IOL. If they can hold their own inside, CMC and the passing game could do some business.

Can you point out the bad reps Banks had during the ATL game? Tomlinson was average last year during the regular season and played rather poorly in the playoffs. I also remember Tomlinson allowing his QB to get killed a couple of times in 2020. So I am not sure where you got the idea that Tomlinson played well in those 2 seasons.

As far as CMC, he will be a part of the running game obviously. But I think he will have a bigger impact on the passing game. He will take some pressure off of both Jimmy and Deebo. That could be enough to jump start this offense going into the second half of the season.

Watters was a very special player, but CMC is a more physically gifted athlete than Watters. Watters had good size, so he was a bit more durable. CMC is miles ahead of Meggett and Metcalf, who were amazing athletes in their own right.

Dont know about all of this now. Keep in mind how much the game has changed since then. But ok.

That's what I was thinking, except for the knock your head off knee action

He has gone over 1000 yards every season he has remained healthy, aside from his rookie season... Of course he isn't going to get 1k yards when he doesn't play even half the season.

CMC is far more talented overall than Watters was. Watters was great, but CMC is better overall. Watters may have a SLIGHT edge as a pure runner. CMC is WAY better as a receiver. CMC is better at getting yards after contact.

I'd take CMC over Watters.

I'm with you. Question will be does he become the focal point of our offense like he's been in Carolina. I doubt so, since Kyle's whole mantra is not having a focal point. Hoping this means he and Deebo now share that punishment, leaving a little in the tank for both come playoff time.

I like the Craig comparison.

I like the Craig comparison.

His numbers are actually eerily similar to pre-Rams Marshall Faulk.
