CMC is a lot more talented than Watters
That says a lot, because Ricky Watters was an excellent RB, and one of my favorite Niners of all time!
You would know Tom!
CMC is NOT more talented than Watters..
Watters can play the WR position ... Watters can be a BELL COW.. Watters can return punt and kick-offs.
CMC is very talented, but he's NOT more talented than Watters.. you can compare him to the old D.Meggett or E. Metcalf..
I think the only thing about the Ricky Watters comparison that falls short is the size and durability
CMC is arguably now the best route runner on the team, and the best running back, but he is not durable enough to be a bell cow like Watters or Gore.
his injury history as the bell cow in Carolina proves this
he will be able to get a little rest here, as Kyle and Jimmy are great at distributing the ball.
I think this will hurt his fantasy numbers, and stats, but will keep him healthier and create big chunk plays when we need them
Do true bonafide bellcows even exist nowaday? They all get hurt all the time. Maybe Zeke?

Say what you will about trading for a RB but he most certainly can ball
New 49ers' RB Christian McCaffrey has played in exactly 65 career games, including the playoffs. Among players with 65 games played all-time, only Hall of Famers Jim Brown, Terrell Davis and Barry Sanders averaged more scrimmage yards per game than McCaffrey, per @EpKap. pic.twitter.com/zYp6GunWTZ

Deebo and Trent Williams were both first team all-pros last year. CMC also hasn't won offensive player of the year.

I love getting CMC, I Love the player.
I don't know what criteria others are using for CMC versus Watters, but Watters could play Flanker hell maybe Split End in the NFL if he wanted to. Dude was like 6-1 or 6-2 215 maybe 220 in his prime. He was a BIG dude at RB.
CMC is what 5-11 205 pounds?
Can he line up at WR from time to time? Sure best would be the slot or maybe Flanker, but he does not have proto-type size for the position.
to me Watters and CMC are not very similar, nor is CMC and Craig. They can produce similar results, just like a DT and a DE can produce similar results or a DE and LB, but there is a fundamental difference in size/speed/abilities. The strengths of one does not really overlap the other.

Or Deebo, Warner, Kittle, Burford…all depends on who you want to chose
all that said the draft is a crap shoot.
You are correct, sir.

FANS saying that CMC is a better athlete than Watters must have NOT been around back then.. again, CMC is a very talented back, but he's not a better athlete than Watters..
He actually played WR in Notre Dame for a year or 2 if ... and Lou Holtz once said that he was the best athlete he ever had.. and that's after Tim Brown won the Heismann.
