2023 MVP ?
At first, I was concerned, given that we had already given up first round picks for Trey Lance... we weren't able to unload cap space for Jimmy... and we have pending contract extensions... I was worried that we gave up too much precious draft capital and now have a guy who's going to cost some us some money the next few years. Those concerns are valid concerns and we'll have to make decisions in the next few offseasons.
But there's a reason why he was, what, voted the #6 player in the league two years ago? He's an elite player and he was electric for us, despite only being on the team for 10 days. We made it to the NFCCG last year with roughly the same cast. We transitioned to Trey Lance, with the hope that he'd be able to get us over the hump once he's fully realized. When he got injured, I was pretty sure we'd make the playoffs, but wasn't sure we had a new wrinkle this year to have a better year than last year. CMC being here inspires a lot of hope this season that... maybe... just maybe...
It's going to be fun to see how the offense progresses over the course of the year.
