There is no playbook. Just concepts. He was steeped in them from birth.

There is still a playbook. There is still the language to get everyone on the same page. This is not a pick up game in the park where everyone just does what they want and the QB has to figure it out on the fly. By no playbook, he doesn't mean that the plays aren't scripted. He just means that they can go beyond a playbook...which makes it harder, not easier.

I don't get how people couldn't think he'd make a huge difference, we've seen what Shanny can do with average RBs what did people think he'd do with an elite player like CMC?

A defense can only shade extra coverage towards so many players at once. He presents all types of matchup problems due to the fact that he can go out there and run the ball too. Never thought we'd actually be able to add him to the gauntlet, but I was celebrating on here before he played a snap.

Same here. I thought we clearly won the trade even with the picks given up. He's been worth more than that.

He single handedly changed our offense. Everyone got better day 1...even when he barely knew the playbook.

CMC is the greatest thing that has ever happened to Kyle Shanahan. we finally get to see his vision on offense. we went from good, to putting up 35 points a game with Mr. Irrelevant by bringing in McCaffrey. he totally unlocked the offense
Totally! Last year, Deebo was the do it all back and the focal point of this offense and opponent knew that. He was close to broken down by playoff time with all the season wear and tear. I was as happy as anybody here when we did the trade for CMC because of those reasons and the 2 are pretty much mirror of each other as playmakers. You add that Eli Mitchell is back in time before the playoffs along with the addtion of Ray Ray(depth), this offense looks even more deep and explosive (with Kittle,Yuk, Juice of course). Isn't it something that we lost Deebo for a few games and the offense still didn't skip a beat, right? Lynch and his team did a great job and man.. having CMC totally help changed this offense.

And holy crap about this nugget.

The 49ers' rushing attack, which ranked No. 26 in defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA) before McCaffrey's arrival, has ranked No. 3 in DVOA since then.

Just based on the fact that Kyle was willing to pay McKinnon, I knew CMC would be a major chess piece for him. He is exactly what Kyle paid for in McKinnon, but obviously much better

This. He had it right the first time. I always noted a huge need for a legit outlet at RB who can also PP but it just never materialized. CMC is that AND as a RB in spades. McKinnon killed it this year as a receiver too (10 TD's). Kyle was right. Had McKinnon stayed healthy, who knows...he might have been the difference maker.

I was skeptical of McKinnon, but seeing him now healthy and in a good situation, yea Kyle indeed got that one right. He would've made a difference in our offense. In the end, I think it worked out for both sides. He's in a great spot and we have a better McKinnon

This offense looks unstoppable since we made the trade.

Only 4 games remaining before we label It has the greatest trade In history

Talking about stars happened to align perfectly for the 49ers.
