He's done well to protect himself.
Everytime I see deebo fight for yards I cringe but McCaffrey has been a lot better of knowing when to fight for yards and when to go down.
He has been a beast. I feel like if we put him in the slot more he would feast even more with Brock throwing to him.

Trade for Mcaffery has to be the best move the 49ers have made in a very long time.

This, there were a few times had he cut it outside there would be big gains. Instead he just ran into the group of guys lol...... probably the only thing I can see him trying to improve on going forward.

I just realized something kinda funny:
If you go by the NFL Draft value chart, we technically gave up less for McCaffrey than the Bears gave up for Chase Claypool 😂
I know the chart isn't the end-all-be-all and there's some value to having a higher quantity of picks, but still. So much for us giving up too much for McCaffrey—the highest pick we gave up won't even be in the top 55.

I think one of the things we had going for us was that we traded for him midseason. Even though his cap hit is minimal this year, he's still a $12M yearly cap hit for the next three years. Midseason when teams kind of already have a certain plan in their heads, they might not be willing to make an investment for a RB...
I would assume that if they were trying to trade in the offseason, teams might be a little more flexible in adjusting their budgets and there'd be more interested teams.

I'm still in disbelief that he is on our team. I still can't fathom putting together "Deebo Samuel" & "Christian McCaffrey" on the same depth chart. It doesn't seem right. My goodness I hope everyone stays healthy through this run and we'll let the chips fall where they may.
