I like CMC, I just don't like paying RB's top tier contracts.
he's about to get restructured or should as he doesn't have any guaranteed money left
True
We need to lower his cap number
I assume he'll restructure but that just means we're kicking more salary down the road.

I love CMC but he is just a RB and is injury prone. I think we need to get him to sign a new contract to lower his cap number or we will be losing players in the future due to a RB contract.
Our offense costs a lot of money, and I'm not sure we are getting a good ROI for what we have and what we are paying CMC, Deebo, Kittle, Juice, & Trent W to go along with our boy genius OC/HC.
Offense needs to put out like the defense who has now had 3 different DC's in three years in order to justify these huge cap numbers.
On the bright side we aren't paying for a FQB at this point.
Everything you said after he's just a RB doesn't matter anymore. He's worth every cent he's getting.
How do you figure that, justify it.
Go to YouTube, type Saquon Barkley highlights and then go look at salaries.
Mitchell's salary is more in line with what we should be paying for a RB IMO
McCaffrey had over 400 more receiving yards and 200 total yards more than Barkley this past season. Once Barkley gets his new deal it will eclipse what CMC is getting.

But his cap number will go up. His percentage of salary vs cap will go down though so that's good. Even if they don't restructure this season it's not hurting the team and he's earned that money.

I disagree, see Lamar Jackson's, Hurts, and other QB contracts. We will have to pay a QB a massive haul soon.

I don't think there's anyone they'd sign with that money. His salary isn't stopping a Bosa or Aiyuk extension.

Could be true, but I think we need to get his cap number down at the very least.
When you look at our roster, we should have a top offense but for some reason we always have a top defense. We have stars; Deebo/Aiyuk/Kittle/CMC/Mitchel/Juice/Trent.
Plus we have a offensive minded coach. so whats the problem?

Interesting take that he's just a running back and is overpaid. It seems that most who have expressed that take when we were trading for him have had a change of perspective since he's played for us.
He is a fine runner, but his value to us is as an offensive weapon.
- He's probably our best receiver
- He is magic as an outlet when the QB goes off-schedule.
- The team's season turned for the better after he arrived
I'm surprised at your point of view having watched him play and our success with him in there.

Mitchell's has to be respected on run plays, but CMC is feared on pass plays and must be accounted for.

I can see where you are coming from, I like CMC and I am a Stanford fan. I think I should have spoke more about the position than the player, I just don't think we can afford to have a $16 million dollar per year RB on our roster.

Not CMC's cap number. Play calling at certain times, QB play, and injuries at crucial moments.
I get the not paying RBs big money opinion, but unicorns like CMC deserve it.

Nice! I figured they would have to restructure his contract so we created an extra 8.6 in cap relief. Now we are at around 11 million

Now why would they create that much space?? Are they planning to take on a cap hit from a certain trade perhaps?? Hmmmm….

Or give it to Bosa.
